9/11: Massachusetts Liberals Still Don't Get It
Boston Herald ^ | September 11, 2007 | Michael Graham

Posted on 09/11/2007 5:32:54 AM PDT by suspects

In America’s collective memory, 9/11 will forever be a fireball blackening the New York skyline, or a Virginia firefighter’s smoke-streaked face. But in fact, Boston played a central role in the plot of this horrible tale.

Among those killed on 9/11 were 203 Massachusetts residents or people with strong ties to the state. More than half the hijackers boarded their flights in Boston - twice as many as Dulles or Newark. At least two of the terrorists spent pre-9/11 at a hotel in Newton. And when 9/11 mastermind Mohammad Atta assembled his terror team, it wasn’t in New York or D.C. It was here.

Which is why I’ve always felt there is a special connection between Boston and the attacks we remember today, a special sense of loss as well as responsibility. Along with New York and Washington, Boston should be a place where the cry “never again” is heard loudest on this day.

Instead, the spirit of 9/11 has been overwhelmed by another, more powerful force in Massachusetts: politics.

The most obvious example is the distasteful treatment of Jim Ogonowski by the Democratic machine. Ogonowski’s brother John was a pilot on American Flight 11, and every year since John’s death, Jim has spoken at the 9/11 ceremony on Beacon Hill.

Until this year.

This year, Ogonowski is a Republican candidate for Congress. And, completely coincidentally, he has been replaced as a speaker by, coincidentally, the Democrat he’s trying to replace, Marty Meehan. Meehan’s wife, by sheer coincidence, is chairing Democrat Niki Tsongas’ campaign against Ogonowski. After the Boston Herald broke the story, Ms. Tsongas then announced that she certainly hopes he would be part of today’s program.

It’s funny how often these strange little coincidences occur in Massachusetts, isn’t it?

MA, like NY, NJ, PA, CT and other states lost many residents but the people here continue to elect lefties who denigrate America and our efforts. It’s just another indication the American people don’t even want to fight, I fear.

This is absolutely typical of the home of Dukakis, Kerry and Kennedy. Notice the connection to "The Sunshine Boys." Words with K in them ought to be funny. But in Massachusetts, they don't get the joke and treat their resident clowns as serious.

You got that right.

JOhn Kerry and Ted Kennedy?

MA exists in another world, where 9/11 just hasn't happened, and ISlamic Fascism does not exist. Sort of like Joseph Kennedy in 1938 as he licked the asses of the Nazis. Ted and John are Kerrying on in the tradition of good Democrat Fascist ass lickers.

D.C.'s loss in Boston's gain. He has the daily morning drive time slot here on WTKK 96.9FM.
