Ron Paul refuses to declare war against Al Qaeda terrorists in Iraq.
We have made it clear here at Free Republic that there is irrefutable documentation showing Saddam's WMD program and links to Al Qaeda under this section on the website
PreWarDocs
Ron Paul continues to appease our enemy.
I am officially posting a declaration of war against Ron RuPaul here at Free Republic on behalf of patriotic Americans who support our troops mission in Iraq.
No, not at all.
What's embarrassing is not standing up and taking action against those who wish (and actively try) to destroy the United States. Thomas Jefferson stood up to them. Why shouldn't we do so now?
Ron Paul says we should stop immediately and bring all troops home from the middle east completely. Not only would this directly result in genocide, but any friends we have over there would be gone. I certainly wouldn't call taking the attack to the enemies of the nation, only to abandon the non-combatants, "cultivate peace and harmony".
It's certainly not "conservative" to advance a policy where our nation would quit the War on Terror in a weak and ineffectual way, when what we need to do is show "peace through strength".
Ron Paul is running an anti-war, idealistic (and unrealistic) political campaign in the middle of a battle our country pledged to win, and he is vowing defeat. THAT is embarassing. And you should be embarassed to support it.
I see your point, but I don't entirely agree. I'd readily settle for a candidate who was serious about rolling back government agencies and government spending, and securing the border. You don't have to be libertarian to want these things.
They were Republican distinctives once upon a time.
Damn Skippy
I must admit that I adore Tom Tancredo and have gotten to spend quite a bit of time with him over the past 2 or 3 years (see www.tnrip.org) but, no matter how GREAT he would be on the illegal immigration issue, he simply doesn't seem to fully understand the proper role of government (i.e. to protect and defend individual liberty and rights as opposed to government intervention in many areas). I must also admit that I told Tom just last spring that my DREAM ticket for pres. and v-pres. would be Ron Paul and him to which he replied that he was honored (and this was WAY before he decided to take a serious look at running for pres.). He also said (at that time) that were he to throw his hat in the ring that he would be doing it to bring attention to the illegal immigration issue instead of letting it be ignored like it was in '04). He's a SUPER individual but I can't support him in the primaries as I feel there is someone better in the running. Of course, how the primaries play out will ultimately determine how I vote in the general ;-)
I appreciate your perspective.
All I have to go on with him is what I have heard and seen in the press about him for the past two years. I’ve been watching Tancredo.
I still think Tanc has it more together than Paul. Paul completely blew it in my book the other night.
Why does one have to be a 'fan' of something to know it isn't about setting up a one world government? It's a think tank designed to allow people of multiple mindsets to debate the issues.
I just love the way Paulistinians 'think'.
Honest? This has been posted to our front page for years:
Statement by the founder of Free Republic

I posted the following statement to our front page in response to the criticism I’m receiving lately as to not being fair and balanced and perceived mistreatment of trolls and assorted malcontents. Got news for all, I’m NOT fair and balanced. I’m biased toward God, country, family, liberty and freedom and against liberalism, socialism, anarchism, wackoism, global balonyism and any other form of tyranny. Hope this helps.
Statement by the founder of Free Republic:
In our continuing fight for freedom, for America and our constitution and against totalitarianism, socialism, tyranny, terrorism, etc., Free Republic stands firmly on the side of right, i.e., the conservative side. Believing that the best defense is a strong offense, we (myself and those whom I’m trying to attract to FR) support the strategy of taking the fight to the enemy as opposed to allowing the enemy the luxury of conducting their attacks on us at home on their terms and on their schedule.
Therefore, we wholeheartedly support the Bush Doctrine of pre-emptive strikes on known terrorist states and organizations that are believed to present a clear threat to our freedom or national security. We support our military, our troops and our Commander-in-Chief and we oppose turning control of our government back over to the liberals and socialists who favor appeasement, weakness, and subserviency. We do not believe in surrendering to the terrorists as France, Germany, Russia and Spain have done and as Kerry, Kennedy, Clinton and the Democrats, et al, are proposing.
As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our borders, our constitution and our national sovereignty.
Free Republic is private property. It is not a government project, nor is it funded by government or taxpayer money. We are not a publicly owned entity nor are we an IRS tax-free non-profit organization. We pay all applicable taxes on our income. We are not connected to or funded by any political party, news agency, or any other entity. We sell no merchandise, product or service, and we offer no subscriptions or paid memberships. We accept no paid advertising or promotions. We are funded solely by donations (non tax deductible gifts) from our readers and participants.
We aggressively defend our God-given and first amendment guaranteed rights to free speech, free press, free religion, and freedom of association, as well as our constitutional right to control the use and content of our own personal private property. Despite the wailing of the liberal trolls and other doom & gloom naysayers, we feel no compelling need to allow them a platform to promote their repugnant and obnoxious propaganda from our forum. Free Republic is not a liberal debating society. We are conservative activists dedicated to defending our rights, defending our constitution, defending our republic and defending our traditional American way of life.
Our God-given liberty and freedoms are not negotiable.
May God bless and protect our men and women in uniform fighting for our freedom and may God continue to bless America.

proof is a tough word. There are tons of articles out there supporting who China and Russia support. There are tons of articles that support the fact that they are building up for something big. You could just take my word for it.
Yeah, right. I think I speak for most rednecks when I say that a man who wears dresses and comes from New York City ain't gonna get my vote. His personal life makes him a non-starter, believe me.
PS: I don't like Fred much either.
“By any standard of international law, the diplomatic course of the United States met all the obligations required by the truce with Saddam and by that same course acknowledged, finally, Saddams inability to live up to that truce and our ability, under international law, to no longer maintain the lull in hostilities that only the broken truce had previously provided.”
Sorry, This would have been accurate if we had the UN permission to break the truce. But we didn’t.
I like Ron Paul’s constitutional stand on most issues but on the war he’s gone wacko. He’s allied himself with Hillary, Code PinkO, International ANSWER, all of the world’s socialist/communist organizations, et al, and the 9/11 Truther conspiracy wackos against America. Sorry, but that makes him a domestic enemy and totally unsuitable for high office. Can’t be trusted with national security/national defense.
Well, to me it appears like the kind of behavior you see in adolescents who refuse to admit they are wrong.
Paul’s words cut to the quick, and to borrow Goldwater’s line..deep down they know he’s right. We’ve screwed up and all we are doing now is saving face. At some point (and it may take a lost election or 2 to realize it) conservatives are going to have to admit they’ve fled their conservative roots to their own doom. They’ve sacrificed liberty for security and achieved neither.
Right now, it appears as if “they hate us for our freedom”...not the terrorists, but rather the neo-cons.
Yeah, and he also wants to abolish the CIA and the FBI which is so unthinkable (especially now) that it appears to border on lunacy to me.
You just convinced me to vote for Ron Paul ;~)
“Paul is relief.. a chance to post some jokes about the Libs.”
Actually paul is a distraction for the online community sent from the powers in the republican party. It’s not yet time to start taking down democrats running for pres. And that’s what we would be doing, ad nausem. So much so that we would be taking out the easy targets too early which would only make the democrats candidate more bulletproof.
We will need all the online ammo we can get against them during those crucial months. FR has always played a force in politics and elections.
(How’s that for a conspiracy?)
So keep debating Ron Paul for a while, he is only getting three percent. Maybe choose some of the good things he says that you agree with, try to get your chosen candidate to listen to them. Not everything he says is full on nutty. Many here can at least agree with his pro-life stance and pro-gun stance. Maybe even his Anti-UN stance.
Remember 90% of the Paul hate club on free republic is primarily against his WOT view.
Paulestinians are more deserving of a padded cell.
Ron Paul is no socialist/communist. That is the most uninformed declaration on this thread.
meant to use the word “implication” not “declaration”. Sorry.
Didn’t say he was. But he’s allied himself with every anti-America group in the world.
