Nuevo: FirstGov to launch in Spanish
By Gail Repsher Emery
Staff Writer
The General Services Administration next week will officially launch FirstGov en Español, the governments first and only Spanish-language information Web portal, at www.espanol.gov, department officials announced today.
USA.gov launches GobiernoUSA.gov (en Español)Captura Group has given a design refresh to "GobiernoUSA.gov". The "old" site (FirstGov en Español) had a perception that the site was not an official government website, it also had branding issues with its name and too much information on a given page. The site made it difficult for users to find what they were looking for.
Today, the new refreshed site with a bigger image of the American flag, a more prominet seal of the US government in the top banner, unique images of Hispanic people connecting thru the internet and a more recognizable name is giving GobiernoUSA.gov better results and better experience for their end users, but that is not all here are some other points they have addressed:
Addition of the official seal of the US government in the homepage header and footer in interior pages and inclusion of the word oficial in the tagline.Changing the name of the site from FirstGov en español to GobiernoUSA.gov, a name that communicates that it is a US Government website and includes the .gov extension in the logo which was easily recognized by Hispanics as being official government domain. In addition, GobiernoUSA.gov is a name that is consistent with the new name of the English site, USA.gov, further solidifying the connection between the English and Spanish sites.

I’m always so glad when some funnies are posted.

Univision.com Using FirstGov en español Content
October 5, 2006
Washington, DC FirstGov en español, the official portal of the U.S. Federal Government, today announced that Univision.com, the most visited Spanish-language website in the United States will become the first online organization to provide a “government” channel using the espanol.gov content. The portal will enable the agency to extend its reach within the Hispanic community through a dedicated section on Univision.com, titled El Gobierno te ayuda (The Government helps you).
With Univision linking to FirstGov en espanol, the Hispanic community will be able to access official government information and services in Spanish around key topics such as jobs, education, immigration, consumer protection and health .
Univision.coms decision to add this feature is helping the Federal Government to better serve its Spanish speaking constituents by providing them with centralized access to valuable information and services on FirstGov en español, the official portal of the US Federal Government, said Lurita Doan, Administrator of the U.S. General Services Administration.
Univision.com will enable Hispanics to use FirstGov en español to access the official government information and services, and will let this community know that the federal government works for them, said Lee Vann, Principal of Captura Group.
FirstGov en español aggregates information in Spanish from federal, state and local government agencies and organizes it in a topical directory accessible to the public at http://www.espanol.gov.
Yep,,,seems like a Gober to me...
I will never be surprised at what our leaders ever do again. Only continually aghast that they care so little about how we the people feel about our country.
SICKENING!
Aint’t it just!
gober or goober?
hehehe
Time will tell...
“Addition of the official seal of the US government in the homepage header and footer in interior pages and inclusion of the word oficial in the tagline.”
As if it were “intentional” or something (lol). Good find!
You said it. Then there's the bushbots and NAU bots....they disgust me, especially after we witness this kind of revolting crap over and over and over.
Yeah....as if! : )
In Mezican talk it’s “Gober.”...;0)
In the webmaster/designer's own words, they say that they are making "a more prominet (sic) seal of the US government in the top banner, "
They also say it is the Official Seal of the US Government.
This stuff is bad, folks. Really bad.
You can't get much worse than this. Next they will be screwing with the American Flag.
Time’s running out....we’re down for the count, Count. : )
