No mention of a gun, just the ammo in this article.
What the hell is this place coming to?
OK, fess up. Which Freeper is this?
...nearly 80,000 rounds of ammunition...
Piker.
No mention of why or anything else? I smell vindictive ex-girlfriend, if she even was a "girlfriend" to begin with.
Serious question: Is ammo illegal in Indiana in certain quantities? Is it okay to own 80 rounds but not 80,000?
Odd to have 80,000 rounds? You bet. But I’d still like to understand what legal justification was used for taking the man’s ammo.
MM (in TX)
He should meet my dad. I think he has 80,000 guns and never remembers to buy any darn ammunition......
The guy was just a speculator, poised to make a monetary killing when the price of ammo jumps - once again - later in the year. The stuff about “the world is going to end” is just a bunch of hyped-up advertising to increase demand for his product before it hits the market.
At least that’s what I’d say if I was his attorney.
But that wasnt the cause for the removal - he violated the terms of a restraining order
I know folks with half that amount who feel the same way - no law broken.......much to the dismay of democrats
So a persons 2nd amendment rights are suspended under a restraining order? Any other right suspended?
I think we all know and nobody I know likes it.
...prepositioning it in multiple, off-site, secure caches is a better plan and offers a lot more flexibility.
Thats ony 160 bricks of 22lr’s.
Thats just his excuse, the real reason is he is an Irish fan ;)
Typical mainstream media article trying to demonize large amounts of ammunition, not abusive relationships.
Convince the public that you don’t “need” this much ammunition and politicians can start passing laws governing how much you may posess.
I haven’t counted lately, but I’ve got to have almost that much. I buy in quantities of 5000-10000 rounds and I never make less than 5000 when I change the press to a new caliber.
Let’s see...

Yup. I probably do have him beat.
80,000 rounds of ammo. Pffft... With all the hoarding due to the “shortage” this ain’t nothin’.
Any time a firearms-related thread is created on FreeRepublic, please be sure to add the "banglist" keyword to it so that interested FReepers don't miss it. Just a suggestion.
Let Freedom Ring,
Sounds like a pretty bogus situation for law enforcement.
There is no law against possessing a million rounds of ammo if so desired.
And some trumped up, alleged restraining order is not grounds to sieze anything without a public hearing and due process.
Lately there has been a lot of focus on confiscating or limiting the amount of ammo one can purchase and it is nothing more than a back door to gun control.
I would like to know more about this story than the article gives.
I can’t imagine what’s illegal about having too much ammo and stating the world is going to end. I think the world is going to end some day(as stated in the Bible, a book most people in this country used to believe) and I have 100 rounds of ammo. Should I get rid of all that ammo so I can still hold that belief or stop believing that so I can keep the ammo?
