I read the transcript of the Larry Graig interview with the Minnesota police.
I don't like what I'm hearing from other conservatives. The liberals see a cheap Senate seat and you want to give it to them because a guy moved two fingers under the stall wall in an airport bathroom.
If they had the guy on tape asking for sex, paying for sex, or photographed in the act, or any other physical proof, then I would say that looks very very bad and he should go.
But that is not the case.
This is very lame, and those of you who have never had a disagreement with a law enforecement officer should hope that a cop never accuses you of something. Because by your own action, your professional career, and or political career, should be forit, merely on the word of the officer with no physical proof or corroborating evidence.
Those of you who pass judgement, on Larry Craig, merely on the heresay and liberal spin that has been run in the press, should be ashamed.

It’s hilarious some here are demanding his innocence, while he signed a plea of guilt.
If I plead guilty to Reckless and Imprudent Driving am I guilty of Driving while intoxicated as well?

You’re using logic, but you’ll be labelled a conspiracy theorist for it .
What I do not understand is why YOU care so much. In what way does his guilt or innocense affect his ability to benefit the Republic. It is clear that he can not be of any help to our country, since he has no political influence and never will have any. In the mean time, the longer he stays in office, the more the media will tie him and his behavior to our party. If he were out of the way, the new GOP Senator could build a record and increase the odds of holding the seat.

Lets get back on track Fred. If someone even suggested you were a kinky bucket mouth, and even implied you were some kind of perverted public bathroom sexual deviate, would you go along with it and plead guilty to *any* of it?

In the interview, Craig said he has a wide stance to keep his pants from falling down whilst sitting on the crapper. He does not said he "kept sticking his foot under the divider." He does not either agree that he reached under the divider several times, only once. Nor does he say that he was staring through the crack in the stall. The officer only says that their eyes met through the crack. Yup, quite a whopper.
I'm not sure what I think about this after reading the transcript. It's all odd. The policeman is immediately referring to the Senator's voting constituency, going to the press, how this country's going down the toilet. And Craig denies all of the allegations while saying "you solicited me."
In short, it's not an "open/shut" kinda deal, IMHO.

Uh, there are plenty of confirmed cases in Chicago alone, where cops say, “just sign this, and you get to leave” Then after five or so years after confessing to crime the cops knew was a lie, they see freedom.
Obviously, his innocence would mean we retain one of the most conservative Senators in the Senate.

It is disorderly conduct to do such a thing, w/o legitimate justification, because it greatly annoy's people. Especially after it follows peeking in and an attempt to play footsie. It would have been justifiable to hand Craig a used TP sheet.
