Conservatives DUMP Senator Larry Craig, for sticking fingers under a bathroom stall wall.

Posted on 08/30/2007 7:50:09 PM PDT by pacificus

I read the transcript of the Larry Graig interview with the Minnesota police.

I don't like what I'm hearing from other conservatives. The liberals see a cheap Senate seat and you want to give it to them because a guy moved two fingers under the stall wall in an airport bathroom.

If they had the guy on tape asking for sex, paying for sex, or photographed in the act, or any other physical proof, then I would say that looks very very bad and he should go.

But that is not the case.

This is very lame, and those of you who have never had a disagreement with a law enforecement officer should hope that a cop never accuses you of something. Because by your own action, your professional career, and or political career, should be forit, merely on the word of the officer with no physical proof or corroborating evidence.

Those of you who pass judgement, on Larry Craig, merely on the heresay and liberal spin that has been run in the press, should be ashamed.

Mark wasn't defending Craig.

I was replying to a poster who implied the opposite and I courtesy pinged the horse's mouth and now know that someone misrepresented Levin's remarks more or less

Yeah, does anyone wait in line to use the loo at the airport?

I won't sit on a stall in an airport unless I am in pain. And I wouldn't wait for a stall to open if my life depended on it. I need at least 10 minutes to clear the air before I will use a stall that someone else has been using.

There are hundreds of restrooms at the Minneapolis Airport. There is never a need to wait for a stall at an airport, especially one like Minneapolis. He knew that this was THE stall. The police knew too, that's why they set up shop at the stall next to it.

So justice doesn't matter to you.

He's guilty. He admitted the crime.

Overlook ? It’s apparent that the party is all to willing to throw the guy overboard .

Craig is a true Conservative , not a phony like the RINO’s calling for his ouster .

It started this way according to Sgt. Karsnia's report:
“At 1216 hours, Craig tapped his right foot. I recognized this as a signal used by persons wishing to engage in lewd conduct. Craig tapped his toes several times and moves his foot closer to my foot. I moved my foot up and down slowly. While this was occurring, the male in the stall to my right was still present. I could hear several unknown persons in the restroom that appeared to use the restroom for its intended use. The presence of others did not seem to deter Craig as he moved his right foot so that it touched the side of my left foot which was within my stall area,” the report states.

Tell you what, after he signed a plea of guilt, you can feel free to demand his innocence all you want.

Doesn’t everyone know by now that it’s the ALLEGATION that counts, not the ADJUDICATION??
I was only able to listen to the tape of the ‘interogation’ thrice. This ‘cop’ ‘s interogation methods are a disgrace to the force. He didn’t follow any recognized interogation method, was an ‘Airport Police’, OFF-DUTY, Regular-Force Wannabee.
So where’s the proof beyond an unsubstanciated allegation? (Good question)
Why wasn’t this “Undercover” L.E.O. wired?
(Good question)
Why wasn’t he working with a ‘second’ to confirm the charge?
(Good question)
Why was Craig only charged with ‘Disorderly’ if he was arrested on the ‘Lewd & Lascivious’ charge?
(Good question)
Ya’ll been takin’ fer a ‘ride’.

I don’t know NOR care if Craig is “Gay”.
That’s not the issue.
This case looks like a classic “speed trap”.

not the ADJUDICATION??

The adjudication was that he admitted the crime by pleading guilty.

He's guilty, by his own admission.

Why is that so hard to understand?

If this is the quality of our party's candidates, they shouldn't expect a contribution from me. It says something about the judgment of the people of Idaho they sent back a pervert to Congress over and over again. We're going have to set higher standards for candidates and demand they abide by them. A modicum of sober decency in public life isn't a lot to ask for.

If I was on a justice forum it would. This is a political forum. Politics is about obtaining and retaining power. Senator Craig is in the way of our movement gaining and maintaining political power.

He is in our way, and must be gotten rid of.

I agree with you, there was nothing that he did that warranted arrest. The cop was out of line.

Having said that, I too want him to resign as he fights this.

He was contemplating retirement anyway. We need to go on.

We need to honor him for years of staying true and voting almost 100% for Republican conservative priniples and freedom.

I have seen a case where a very prominent man in my community was caught doing something that was unsavory. The press hounded him until he killed himself. Everyone gleefully called him perv. etc. This is what I am talking about in destroying someone based upon folks stating that “there have been rumors about him for years.” Many are more interested in totally destroying him than anything else.

In any case, guilty or innocent, he is in the way, and must be disposed of.

I don't think he'll survive. I'm not sure that he should be "disposed of" because of your argument. All crimes are not equal. And while the Senator's explanation doesn't pass the laugh test, I'm not sure I might not be a bit disorderly if I was accused of soliciting gay bathroom sex. Of course, I don't tap my feet or reach fingers under the stall either.

No, he pleaded guilty. He's claiming he's innocent now after he already pleaded guilty and admitted the crime.

Thanks for not answering the question.

The restroom was a known meeting place for gays (in all probability it is on a gay website..which tells gays where to go)

The restroom was out of Craigs way ...he had to work to get there

The man is not innocent

Excuse me, but a US Senator or Congressman who is a criminal, etc., is not “our trash”. it’s a national problem. I resent John McCain immediately calling on Craig to resign because he is a “fellow republican” while sidling up to out and out KILLER Ted Kennedy. There is a nation here, not just party politics.

He said “You solicited me” not “you seduced me”. Big difference in meaning.
