Conservatives DUMP Senator Larry Craig, for sticking fingers under a bathroom stall wall.

Posted on 08/30/2007 7:50:09 PM PDT by pacificus

I read the transcript of the Larry Graig interview with the Minnesota police.

I don't like what I'm hearing from other conservatives. The liberals see a cheap Senate seat and you want to give it to them because a guy moved two fingers under the stall wall in an airport bathroom.

If they had the guy on tape asking for sex, paying for sex, or photographed in the act, or any other physical proof, then I would say that looks very very bad and he should go.

But that is not the case.

This is very lame, and those of you who have never had a disagreement with a law enforecement officer should hope that a cop never accuses you of something. Because by your own action, your professional career, and or political career, should be forit, merely on the word of the officer with no physical proof or corroborating evidence.

Those of you who pass judgement, on Larry Craig, merely on the heresay and liberal spin that has been run in the press, should be ashamed.

I recall Craig as one of the ones we weren’t going to support anymore because of his ‘pro-illegal’ stance.

He should go for that reason alone.........shouldn’t he?

If he had plead not guilty, that would have been the end of it. I do realize there are double standards in the media. At the end of the day though, I want our leaders to set an example worthy of their highest offices. Or has honor become passe in this day and age? A man needs that above all - without it, he is nothing. I do not understand why a United States Senator would not fight for his own reputation. It seems to me we do not have men any more - we have eunuchs.

My best guess is he was trying to solicit. BUT that is a GUESS. The activity up to the point he was arrested was weak. And that is IF I accept the cop's version of the story.

The real outrages are that Craig is NOT being driven out for homosexuality (Barney Franks) or illegality (Ted Kennedy, B Franks, Jeffries, ad infinitum). He is being driven out because he is a republican. Remember the Congressman Kennedy who was driving around the Capitol wasted, cops let him go, went to rehab and was a victim hero? It's sickening. They APPLAUDED a Congressman who had SEX with a boy page.

He probably is gay, but the charges in this case are pretty weak.

This is like pleading “no contest” to “careless driving” when you were actually “DUI”. If someone wants to dig into it, they find the actual charges and details. In the past, many Kenndey’s have escaped public condemnation via this method.

I posted the fix for this yesterday but admin decided to pull the thread without explanation.

Why - I haven’t the slightest clue.

FR sunk several notches in my book. JMHO.

“Larry Craig quietly pled guilty and hoped nobody would find out.”

As Glen Beck pointed out, that made him susceptible to all sorts of blackmail or extortion from anyone who might know. To what lengths would he have gone to keep this a secret?

By all standards of ethics and beholding public trust, he failed miserably. Dump him, post haste.

Exactly. Especially when the story was held and then released as soon as Her Ugliness is caught in a big finance scandal.

Freepers are so stupid sometimes.

Unless he actually does something illegal

He DID do something illegal. He pled GUILTY to a crime.
He is GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY!

I consider honor an issue and I would fight for mine. Why wouldn't Larry Craig fight for his? Why did he surrender like a p'tak and take it lying down? Someone who has honor will do all that is necessary to defend it.

This conservative in his 46 years has managed NOT to get arrested while using a public restroom for its intended purpose.

I also fly a lot and while using an airport public restroom for its intended purpose I have NOT even considered I would be arrested for doing what one is supposed to do in an airport restroom.

In fact I think it has to be dang impossible to get arrested in a public airport restroom if one does one supposed to do there.

I sarcastically congratulate Mr Craig for managing to get arrested.

No, I’m more of a peeking through the crack in the stall wall for two minutes kind of guy.

Take it up with Craig. He’s the one who pled guilty and didn’t tell anyone about it, not even his family. Had it not been dug out by the media he wouldn’t be acting like a liberal trying weasel his way out of his guilty plea.

I guess there is a lesson here. Don’t screw around in public bathrooms, it might help Hillary.
