I read the transcript of the Larry Graig interview with the Minnesota police.
I don't like what I'm hearing from other conservatives. The liberals see a cheap Senate seat and you want to give it to them because a guy moved two fingers under the stall wall in an airport bathroom.
If they had the guy on tape asking for sex, paying for sex, or photographed in the act, or any other physical proof, then I would say that looks very very bad and he should go.
But that is not the case.
This is very lame, and those of you who have never had a disagreement with a law enforecement officer should hope that a cop never accuses you of something. Because by your own action, your professional career, and or political career, should be forit, merely on the word of the officer with no physical proof or corroborating evidence.
Those of you who pass judgement, on Larry Craig, merely on the heresay and liberal spin that has been run in the press, should be ashamed.
Oh my, I really thought you were just kidding. That’s sad. If you’ll check the transcript or listen to the tape, you’ll hear that right after the cop read Craig his rights, Larry says ‘You seduced me’.
Great the old ‘bitch set me up’ defense! But, I ask you how Craig knew he was being seduced? Since it was all secret homo signals, how did Craig know he’d been trapped?

Was also pointed out on another forum: Why doesn’t Senator Craig use the VIP Lounge for whatever airline he uses. Surely, he flies 1st class and has the points or whatever for the lounge....eh?
Has anyone stated where he was flying FROM and TO? Is this his most convenient route? Or... does he make a “special trip?”

Stepping down has nothing to do with who the GOP nominates.
He should decline to run for re-election while this is still up in the air and be allowed to serve out the remainer of his Senate term. If this turns out to be a lot of hot air and the charges are dismissed against Craig, he can run for office in the future.
He should NOT be forced to resign his seat prior to Jan. 2009 unless it is PROVEN that he lied and covered up criminal sexual actions.

The knee jerk reaction of conservatives because of one cop's testimony AND just in time for a large fund-raising scandal to be knocked out of the headlines should make all conservatives suspicious.
Instead, there's a full-scale rush for the Senator's head. Sick.

I would think that flying from DC to Idaho would probably involve a trip on Northwest Airlines, whose hub is Minneapolis.

Well let's see... Alberto Gonzales is an open-borders Bush sock puppet and dozens of freepers continued to support him tooth-and-nail for monthes, solely because he had an "R" next to his name and we didn't want a "win" for the Senate. Lots of freepers continue to whine how Gonzales was a "victim" of racism even after it was demostrated the guy was a total liar and completely incompetant to boot. After Gonzales and his -576% apporval rating FINALLY took the hint and left office, many freepers continued to cry about Bush's little useless sock puppet not having the opportunity to carry out the rest of his lame duck term.
So if so many people can go the mat for open-borders RINO Gonzales, yes, I think Craig should be allowed to serve out his term unless it's proven he lied about being a gay-sex solicting pervert.
AFAIK, there is very little of that stuff around here--at least, none I have seen--which is fine by me.
If that is what the cop is doing, I would not trade him jobs, but I am glad he is doing his.
