Conservatives DUMP Senator Larry Craig, for sticking fingers under a bathroom stall wall.

Posted on 08/30/2007 7:50:09 PM PDT by pacificus

I read the transcript of the Larry Graig interview with the Minnesota police.

I don't like what I'm hearing from other conservatives. The liberals see a cheap Senate seat and you want to give it to them because a guy moved two fingers under the stall wall in an airport bathroom.

If they had the guy on tape asking for sex, paying for sex, or photographed in the act, or any other physical proof, then I would say that looks very very bad and he should go.

But that is not the case.

This is very lame, and those of you who have never had a disagreement with a law enforecement officer should hope that a cop never accuses you of something. Because by your own action, your professional career, and or political career, should be forit, merely on the word of the officer with no physical proof or corroborating evidence.

Those of you who pass judgement, on Larry Craig, merely on the heresay and liberal spin that has been run in the press, should be ashamed.

I can figure out why he gave him his business card...he thought “Oh, I know young queers will really want to have fun with a powerful politician.”

No...we Idaho conservatives wanted to dump him a long time ago because of his championing of amnesty. The fact that he pleaded guilty to the charge against him shows that, at best he has horrid judgment or, at worst he's a disgusting homosexual pervert who trolls public restrooms looking for sex.

He's needed to go for a long time...it's only more urgent now.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

The Senator agreed he tapped a foot.

He did not agree he stroked a stall.

I thought Craig said he 'did not recall' putting his fingers under the stall?

But you have the beginnings of a great Dr. Suess poem.

The “No” was on tape

The bathroom incident was on tape? Where did you hear this?

He did not plead guilty to ANYTHING EVEN REMOTELY, EVEN TINILY CLOSE OR EVEN RELATED TO ANYTHING SEXUAL IN NATURE.

Needs to be posted again.

You're right about CNN...they will keep on with this until every conservative believes he did.

Either way, 13 or 2. Do you realize how long two minutes are, to be staring into the crack of a stall? Loooooooong time!

But what is the crime? The pleading actually basically says he was acting scary by tapping his foot and bumping his foot. That’s it. The pleading isn’t about solicitation or anything. How is that a crime?

I haven't read that section of the penal code, but I was surprised to hear that the fine is $600. That's a rather stiff penalty. I think the prosecutor just wanted to jerk him around.

OK, guys, look, everyone knows “the rules” in the public cans.

1. The only thing you want to touch is the soles of your shoes to the floor.

2. It’s not a place to hang out and chat with guys you don’t know.

3. Anyone looking through the crack while you’re taking a dump gets a quick “F*** OFF!”

Cops run these stings all the time, and target specific places. You think they go fishing where there’s no fish? While I’d like to give Craig the benefit of the doubt, his version is just too fishy for me.

“I think the cop was doing his job,”

I think if this were a democrat senator the cop would not have there and there would be no case.

Concert violinist attacked by cops for riding a bicycle

The problem is that cops can harass you for no reason, treat any response except complete submission as resisting arrest, and their word carries more weight than yours, even if you have video evidence to the contrary.

I then heard him yell an order to Officer Bryant- ‘Shoot him!’. Officer Bryant then shot me with the taser. I fell uncontrolled to the pavement for the second time, experiencing the full force of a weapon that can only be considered barbaric. (There are many documented deaths by taser. For this reason police departments do not consider it a ‘non’ lethal weapon, but a ‘less’ lethal weapon. It was developed to be used in lieu of a gun, as a weapon of last resort when a person is seriously threatened. Needless to say, I did not give permission for this to be used on me as part of the exercise, nor was I asked in advance if I had any medical history that could have led to my death. Only after the fact, in the hospital, was I asked my medical history.)

As I lay still on the pavement, Officer Wingate walked over to my glasses and smashed them into the ground with his boot. I was handcuffed, body searched and baggage searched. Reinforcements were called in, a total of (4) squad cars and a paramedic unit.

Officer Wingate said, ‘Well, you wanted to speak to my supervisor, here he is’. I then asked Sergeant Karsnia ‘What in the world is going on here?’ He also wanted to know from me what had happened but said ‘first, I’d like to speak to my officer, and then I’ll get back to you’. He had a private conversation with Officer Wingate, came back, asked what had happened but immediately interrupted me and said ‘Look, I’ll do the talking here because you tried to take a swing at my officer’. At this point the collusion was clear. I then had no reason to believe that the brutality was over. As I stood on Outbound Rd next to the squad car, handcuffed, I called out ‘Help!’ to all passing traffic, hoping to draw attention to the situation, and in hope of a witness. No cars would stop. When ironically asked to ‘calm down’ I explained to Sergeant Karsnia that I wanted a third party present, as I no longer had reason to trust the police.

The Duke Lacrosse players did not plead GUILTY.

Tom Delay has fought the charges every step of the way proclaiming his INNOCENCE. Even gotten some of them dropped.

Rush was not completely innocent of all wrongdoing but he did deny doctor shopping and fought that charge quite awhile.

Meanwhile Craid pled GUILTY and tried to keep it secret even from his family.

Yeah, I see a lot of similiarty between his case and the others.

Pacificus, we are rapidly reaching the point where no one will be pure enough, or conservative enough, or [insert characterization of your choice] enough to be a member of the Republican Party.

It seems to me that we are rapidly reaching the point where no one can distinguish between a Democrat or a Republican. Sure, we can dredge up hundreds of cases of immoral democrats to counter the immoral republicans that get caught - BUT WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BE BETTER THAN THEM.

I think you made the point for the fact that Craig is guilty. The “average person” would NOT know the signs. And so since he DID then, well what does that look like?
Perhaps you were never a member of any segment of society, a church, a club, a sorority or, um, Costco? Well, there are things that you do. People who participate know that. Now, with illegal and immoral groups, like , oh say homos or junkies or gang members they do not have little books that you get at the Barnes and Noble, but yes, they do have their own rituals and protocols. This group of Polyannas here needs to grow up. I think it gives Free Republic a bad name all the stupid defenders of this creep.

Not the whole incident no/ Once the cop revealed he was a cop. Just before he had to coax him out of the stall.
