I don’t know about this school, but in many places spanash is a required subject.
There are ways to do that which don’t require making asses of themselves.
At least one e-mail sent to 9NEWS said that at least one student started a chant of white power and some said that all Mexicans should go back to Mexico.Immigration is an explosive topic right now. It seeped into the classroom, she said.
Was this a "call" or a "response"? It is quite common to find signs from the Aztlan "La Raza" "THE Race" crowd telling those of "European" descent to "go home" (unless you are descended from Spaniards it appears). They claim this land (all the way up to Massachusetts) in the name of Mexico.
But this "obviously" occurred in a bubble just as we were not supposed to hear the anti-white people taunts of the black audience members that Michael Richards insulted with the n-word nor were we supposed to hear the antisemitic remarks at the comedy club 9the following day) by "civic leaders" who blamed the continued used of the n-word in rap and movies on "the Jews".
There are all sorts of bigots but only one side gets noticed in the national media. No one is right to make such remarks but the media plays us for fools.
Spanish is a good starter language if you are going to learn a living language. Of course Latin is my favorite. It is so useful especially if you plan to go into law, medicine or any of the natural sciences.
Oh no! they’ll all have to go for sensitivity training.
Depends on how it is asked.
WHY do students have to learn Spanish?
Why do students HAVE to learn Spanish?
Answer — They shouldn’t NEED to and they shouldn’t HAVE to. Period!
“Entiendas” That was the first mexican word I learned. I was required by my teacher in New Mexico to help one of my classmates with our classwork. It was the FOURTH grade!!! That was well over 20 years ago. Was I resentful then, hell yes I was. I was trying to learn myself for goodness sake. I disagree with the chanting, but for kids to have real concerns in not the least bit surprising for me to hear. Oh, well...I see not much has changed.
I am not racist in any way or form but I think this is an inevitable incident. And ‘race’ alone is not always the factor.
We are being pushed aside in our own country by different cultures, languages and religious beliefs.
I can’t read half the signs in my grocery store anymore and this is the USA!!
I thought that they closed the Glendale Galleria. Isn’t that the same place, btw, where they filmed “Fast Times at Ridgemont High?”
We’re not interested in learning the language of those coming to do:
“the jobs Americans won’t do”.
We have higher aspirations.
Ours is learning Mandarin and Latin. Latin is great for word roots - ENGLISH - that is and known to be helpful for SAT scores. Mandarin, hey China is a powerhouse. Laready have four years of oral and written completed. She's been over to Asia and it has been very useful and she's under age 10. NO SPANISH speaking country has EVER amounted to anything impressive and it’s not changing anytime soon.
Demand a border fence! Build it NOW!! Beef up the border patrol and close our borders! Stop the DREAM Act!!

ANd that’s why it breaks down in the schools. Many kids realize that when they’re being pissed on it isn’t rain. And you simply can’t ‘explain’ to 16 year old kid that what they’re hearing is not literally true but we’re going to pretend it’s true due to something called political correctness. That simply does not compute to a kid that age. It just makes them think their teachers are stupid, which in many cases is probably true. There has to be a way that kids (and grownups) can stick up for their own culture without being stigmatized as racists.

Pat has finished his second Greek workbook; he knows about 10 words now. I’ll order Level III from the publisher when we get back from our vacation (for which we are leaving Sunday!).
It’s fun for everyone. Even the baby points at the Greek blocks and tries to say the letters!
Too late for me, plus I’m not going to San Fran if I can avoid it.
Is Rosetta Stone any good?
Is Rosetta Stone any good?

Yes.
Like a teaching job...
Spain would argue with you.
And China is going to be coming apart at the seams soon.
You would be better off learning Hindi.
Latin is good for a number of reason. She will have a much easier time with any science or legal class because of it.
Viva multiculturalism and diversity. Lights out for America.
