Conservative Republicans Have Only One Choice In 2008
American Chronicle ^ | August 30, 2007 | Chuck Baldwin (moderator note: Constitution Party VP candidate)

Posted on 08/30/2007 7:51:17 AM PDT by rface

Let's cut to the chase: conservative Republicans have only one choice for President in 2008: Congressman Ron Paul of Texas. Unlike the GOP frontrunners, Paul is the real deal.

No real conservative could support Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, John McCain, Fred Thompson, or Newt Gingrich. When it comes to historic conservative principles, each of these men is as phony as a three dollar bill. That they are now attempting to cast themselves as conservatives is more than laughable: it is downright hilarious.

[ snip ]

If one wants a true photograph of how a congressman or senator votes on conservative, constitutional issues, the best place to look is the Freedom Index in the New American Magazine. Ron Paul almost always ranks as the most conservative congressman from either chamber or either party. His current ranking is 100%, which is a score that few congressmen or senators, except Ron Paul, ever achieve. And Paul does it routinely.

See the Freedom Index here: http://www.jbs.org/files/fi-110-1.pdf

[ snip ]

Ron Paul said these words, "I have never been one who is comfortable talking about my faith in the political arena. In fact, the pandering that typically occurs in the election season I find to be distasteful. But for those who have asked, I freely confess that Jesus Christ is my personal Savior, and that I seek His guidance in all that I do. I know, as you do, that our freedoms come not from man, but from God. My record of public service reflects my reverence for the Natural Rights with which we have been endowed by a loving Creator."

Could conservative Christians ask for a testimony that is any clearer?

Should Ron Paul win the Republican nomination, he would almost certainly win the general election. His constitutional, common-sense ideals would be attractive to such a broad range of voters, I dare say that he would win a landslide victory, no matter who the Democrats nominated. Conservatives, independents, libertarians, union members, and even some liberals (mostly those who oppose the war in Iraq and Bush's Big Brother schemes) would support Ron Paul. The challenge is winning the Republican nomination.

Conservative Republicans have only one choice for President in 2008: Ron Paul.

Me, I'm thinking LOL! Thompson isn't trying (according to you) and yet he's the #2 guy in the polls without trying, and so far he's run a brilliant "non-campaign"

No kidding. Wait 'til he declares. :)

“Social conservative” = a liberal with morals. Both want to use the force of their almighty government to tell me how to live my life.

“But social conservatives MUST NOT SELL OUT their principles!”

Tell you what, you LIVE by your own principles and I’ll LIVE by mine. It’s called LIBERTY. You can leave me the hell out of your strict, quasi-socialist utopia.

Regarding the Ron Paul graphic - you are kidding me right? That’s really a legit graphic from his supporters? With the crescent and star?

Neocons would be saddened. They were hoping for someone that would bomb Iran for them and advance a world police force while remaining chickenhawks themselves.

And I don’t need some moron like Chucky Baldwin telling me who to vote for. Especially telling me I need to vote for some anti-American pretend republican like RP.

With an army of online trolls, poll-pumpers and spambots acting in his behalf, that's no surprise.

Ron seems to be the consensus choice of all the nut cases on shortwave radio.

So let me ask you.. :)... If 50% of the FAG PRIDE PARADE 'participants,' sign on (register) as 'Republicans' based on the 'principle, of lower taxes, does that make them full fledge CONSERVATIVES such as you seem to be? :)

all kidding aside, I think this is the tactic they will use to divide the Republicans, and why not?

“Ron seems to be the consensus choice of all the nut cases on shortwave radio.”

This “cult-of-personality” worship on display by so many Freepers sickens me. Be it Paul or anyone else, this “he will save us all BS” borders on fanatical.

Oh, please. That was pure speculation spread by the MSM.

Fred will be the Republican nominee.

We don't need some empty suit!!! (Fred Thompson) We don't need a Baby Killer! (Rudy Giuliani) We don't need some cult religious kook! (you-know-who!)

Well we surly do not need a white flag waving anti-American like cut and run. The choice of the terrorists.

I agree with you about Rep. Paul. I was in the navy, and I worked near Baghdad, in the Triangle of Death, for six months. I think that all Americans support our mission in Iraq or support the terrorists. Rep. Paul and the majority of Democrats are on the wrong side.

“all kidding aside, I think this is the tactic they will use to divide the Republicans, and why not?”

No, it’s the tactic you are using. I’m not saying your heart isn’t in the right place but when I don the label of “conservative” it is always in reference to federal government power. That is why I see the term “social conservative” as a contradiction. Such an agenda cannot be implemented without growing and further empowering government and restricting liberty, things to which I am vehemently opposed.

The use of the federal government to impose a stringent, narrow social ideology is the cause of liberals. The ideology is different, the modus operandi is the same. I will not support it.

I'am sorry but you are too smart for me! I mean it.

Yes I know, The Constitution of U.S. and our way of government it must have been somehow created by God himself because it is so perfect!... Well, I don't buy that. I actually think that if these bright men who created it - with the best intentions ever- had foreseen how it would be used today, they might have changed a couple of things here and there. Who uses our constitution? (Terrorist, killers, pedophiles, fags, etc) and God/religion/the boys scouts, have become some how the EVILS of this U.S.A.

I think Social values Conservatives, should do whatever it takes to DEFEND the principles we believe in and if that means dropping out of a political party that does not do anything for us... Well... we must look else where, that's all.

I say SHAME OF SOCIAL VALUES CONSERVATIVES if they compromose their principles, but hey, each one will have to decide.

I didn’t know you had vision problems....

Tall, Strong, Handsome???

Not a good fit for Ron Paul
He may be the only choice for the libertarian vote, but he isn’t a choice for a conservative Republican.
