Just make her a staffer for their ambassador to the United Nations.

He can pass her around to his little friends as some sort of celebrity.

They'll like that.

Just keep this ugly woman who deserted her child out of my country. BTW, has a DNA test been done to show if the child is hers? A normal mother would not have left her own child behind.

If she thinks that will get her a “free ride” back to the US, she is mistaken. Any “ambassador” can be refused entry......

Her legal status is such that she’s not permitted to ever return to the U.S., as a diplomat or anything else.

It doesn’t matter what the mexicans grant her or don’t, she’s not permitted back ever and without our blessing she doesn’t come.

"the United States can't continue treating undocumented migrants as terrorists"

No; not "terrorists", just treat them like the CRIMINALS that they are!

She's gonna be the Mexican equivalent of Cindy Sheehan?????

No problem!! Let the Mexican government make her a diplomat and let them pay her salary and medical bills, for her as well as her son.

Maybe They could make all Mexican illegals diplomats and pay for them as well.

We should jail her if she crosses the border again.

I am getting tired of Mexicans. Very tired.

Hopefully our laws outlawing felons convicted in the U.S. will be denied entry — maybe that law is overlooked if the felon is MEXICAN/LATINO/HISPANIC.

It is unfathomable that this ordinary law-breaker gets an audience with the President of her country, just by being a high-profle criminal.

We are truly living in a “cult of personality” era.

It will be interesting to see if the Mexican government feels strong enough to ratchet up this discussion by giving her a diplomatic visa. Our next move in that chess match would be to halt the issuing of any kind of visas whatsoever to anyone from Mexico, including student visas. Then we would see whether the Mexican government was more interested in Elvira, or the continuing ability of the children of its elite to study in the United States. That’s assuming our government has the backbone to actually retaliate.

I found this on Answers.com:

"In the event that a nation refuses to admit a diplomat from a foreign nation or demands his or her recall, the diplomat's government must either comply or break off relations."

...In a news release, the president's office said Arellano asked the Mexican government to help her get a visa so she can enter the United States...

Surely the President's office knows that the Mexican government cannot "help her to get a visa."

Under U.S. federal law a deported alien may not be admitted to the United States for 5 years after deportation. Entry by a previously deported alien within 5 years of deportation is a criminal offense subject to a maximum imprisonment term of 2 years. Entry by a previously deported alien with a criminal history including a drug offense is a criminal offense subject to a maximum term of 10 years. Entry by a previously deported alien with a criminal history including an aggravated felony is a criminal offense subject to a maximum term of 20 years.
