Absolute vanity about tattoos.

Posted on 08/28/2007 9:06:17 PM PDT by ozaukeemom

Over the years, I have thought about getting a tattoo. Surprising considering my fear of needles! lol I see them everywhere on every classs of person, I see the artwork vary from onr body to another.What causes someone to decide to have a tattoo. Is it cultural? Is it a fad? I am seriously thinking about it now. Any stories, suggestions? Thank you!

Actually no. You don't see them on every class of person - just some classes of people. Go to a large corporation and look at the management.

'Cuz they wear suits and ties, dope!

They used to be able to put a “mental hold” on folks like this.

Yeah, but you have to put her on your belly so you can make her dance!

That is an excellent point.

Frankly I don't give a rat's ass if people have tatoos or not. But from my observations, it's more likely that the guy working at the carwash will have one than the guy who drives his porsche in the carwash.

Again, getting lectured by a guy who cannot even spell tattoo....

Why would any self respecting person want to emulate the criminal class?

Teach them. LOL.

A woman with a visible tatoo is advertising herself to the world as being easy.

A woman with a hidden tatoo is telling her discovering partner that she tricked him into thinking she wasn't as easy as she really is and to be careful cause he might catch something that won't wash off.

Nothing says “I wanna be like prison scum” like a good facial tatt.

Forget about the tattoo if you want to look like someone in or fresh out of lockup. Just hang your pants below your ass, advertising you are “ready”. At least when you do this, you can easily put your drawers back up. Tattoos are forever. Don’t listen to the commercials about lasers and getting them taken off. You will always see the location they were at.

I’m no fan of tattoos, but that’s a good idea. Also, henna work can be changed every so often.

Your post was all about claiming victory.

Ah, but I wasn't complaining about his claim of victory. I didn't view the claim as an offense. I outlined why he wasn't victorious, and re-presented the arguments he skirted. That is the difference.

Wow, that is so clever.

You posted it twice in fact! I guess that makes you twice as clever!

Hint: That was sarcasm. It actually demonstrates the limits of your imagination. It reminds me of my 6 year old nephew who learned the old classic: “I know you are but what am I?”

It’s my observation that a guy who judges a person on the basis of the car they drive, or where they work, is a generally shallow, classless individual that no amount of polish can hide.

I think right off the bat we can rule out metal detecting as a hobby for this guy...

If Christ/God is important to you . . . you might track down the Scriptural references on it.

God’s perspective seems to be that He feels He made you quite nice as you came from the womb . . . and deplores mangling the temple He wants to inhabit.

But I don’t recall the refs or the keywords. Maybe someone else hereon will.

I’ve also known far more folks who regretted getting their tattoos than those who still thought they were wonderful 10, 20 or 30 years later.

Don’t.

Nothing I know of lowers my opinion of a woman faster than seeing she has a tattoo. Well, that and any woman who has excess piercings. By excess I mean any more than one hole in each earlobe.

= = =

INDEED.

Seems to this shrink that there MUST be some yearning . . . some unmet need . . .

1. need for belonging;

2. need to feel special to someone for some reason;

3. need to be noticed;

4. need to feel attractive;

5. need to feel hip;

6. need to feel individual while going with the tattoo herd;

. . .

All of which, each of which, smacks of serious immaturity, AT BEST.

Also, in many cases . . . there seems to be a strong thread of rebellion. Certainly many employers view such as a fierce indication of independence, stubborn atypical behavior patterns etc. all of which kind of raise the red flag for a prospective employer of:

THIS CHARACTER IS !!!!NOT!!!! A TEAM PLAYER.

I know of a manager at a home supply sort of chain that’s required to wear long sleeves to avoid turning off customers.

Some customers even have such an aversion and fear related to tattooed people that it can be a serious problem with that type of customer.

Show the world that your self-esteem depends on what some low-life crack addict can convince you to buy.

Sounds like a deal to me.

If you want to show the world your individuality, why not try working on your brain rather than your body.

EXCELLENT POINTS.

A pretty woman is like a work of art. A tattoo is graffiti that covers it.

= = =

. . . . THAT IS LIKE . . . mud from the barnyard splattered on it.
