Fred Fixes A Date
RedState | August 27, 2007 | California Yankee

Posted on 08/28/2007 7:50:24 PM PDT by Josh Painter

Fred Thompson's new campaign manager, Bill Lacy, forces out communications director Linda Rozett and suddenly we have a date for Fred's announcement:

Sources tell numerous outlets that Thompson will announce his campaign September 4th, and that he will participate in his first debate on September 27 at Morgan State University in Baltimore. His first major appearance at a GOP event will be at the Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference in Michigan around a week earlier.

In Romney’s case it’s “And another one goes to jail.”

Thanks, Sturm, for calling her out on this one. I was in bed at the time. As I'm catching up on my pings this morning I about jumped out of my seat when I saw her going on about Fred's personnel changes at the exact same time Mitt's personnel are being arrested for allegedly soliciting gay sex in public bathrooms. I had to let out a big "Oh you should talk..." on that one.

Seems like Fred is becoming rather connected with Maryland...I wonder if that means a Steele VP spot...

I still like Fred but many of his supporters on this website are mean-spirited and intolerant of any other candidate or those who even speak nicely about another candidate.

I have not seen much (any, that I recall) of what you describe by Fred supporters, except for those who RESPOND to gnats who attack Fred first (usually with silly, superficial, or dishonest attacks.)

BTW, it’s not the Romney, Huckabee, Hunter, or even Rudy supporters on here who are mean-spirited, slanderous and nasty.

What planet are you on? If you've been a FRedHead, you would have seen some of the nastiness from people like Kimmy, and Saundra, and a few others here I won't mention on other Fred threads that made me wonder why the mods aren't purging them. It has been that bad and worse.

Now, you are trying to get yourself above the fray by saying the FRedHeads are the nasty ones? You sound like a Dem, when they attack others as the fallacy of their position is brought to light.

Politics is war with words. It will get worse before it's over, but stop trying to point blame in one direction, that's a DEM tactic, and you are not very good at it.

“he will participate in his first debate on September 27”

Which means he will miss the next great debate Sept 5th on FOX News. Fred is beyond arrogant.

Fred’s supporters keep saying the media and other candidates are “afraid” of Fred; I think it’s the other way around - otherwise he would not be avoiding his awesome responsibilities in the quest for the presidency.

Barf.

How long has it been since we've had a presidential campaign that is this heated, just for the party nominations?

It's great actually having a real battle, rather than some backroom-annoited golden boy like we've had in the last four elections.

Certainly calls Romney’s judgement into question...

*************

This is one of those unexpected events that can negatively impact a campaign when it appears to be going strong. It brings to mind the "Dean scream".

A lot can happen between now and November 2008.

I wouldn't read too much into yet. Most of the political campaign "talent" in the country lives in Maryland or Virginia.

“Thompson/Giuliani ‘08
Flamesuit on.”

I am not offended by that at all.

If I had to have a RINO VP, Giuliani would be OK. Romney would probably be better RINO VP choice, though.

Why should a candidate be forced to enter a race so early just because others are eager to start lying before anyone else? You do know that traditionally, right after labor day is when candidates usually announce?
