Fred Thompson's new campaign manager, Bill Lacy, forces out communications director Linda Rozett and suddenly we have a date for Fred's announcement:
Sources tell numerous outlets that Thompson will announce his campaign September 4th, and that he will participate in his first debate on September 27 at Morgan State University in Baltimore. His first major appearance at a GOP event will be at the Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference in Michigan around a week earlier.

If we as a party cant do better than the idiot thats running California and the other guy, Im going to have to wait until a party comes along that has at least half a clue.
My patience is shot.
I don't and won't vote for someone Republican in name only.
People should be inclined to vote for anyone they want especially in a primary.
I still like Fred, he may not be quite as conservative as Hunter but I think we can trust him to carry out the agenda unlike our current commander in chief who was very misguided with this immigration bill.
I also think he can carry enough Independent votes to beat any Democrat.
No preaching, just my past experience on FR when things got heated prior to the 2000 election.
Stay off threads about a candidate you don't support unless you have something nice to say like.
I would vote for Fred but my first choice is Hunter and I'll be voting for him during the primary.
Nuff said.
Freegards.
nope, an pair of black (cheap) ascis gels/w broken shoe laces. :/
Yes, the 2000 election cycle was abysmal here. Sadly, everything I predicted would come out of that campaign, did just about come to pass.
I knew what we would be getting. I predicted that electing that person could just about destroy conservatism. IMO, we’re a long way down that road.
We have very little advocacy for conservative policy, at the federal level. If you take a look at the way the Democrats pound their agenda home, and then look at how we do it, it’s embarassing.
The WOT as far as it goes, is an exception IMO, but once again it lacks strong definitive weekly advocacy from the top.
Hey, you take care. Nice talking to you.

Mixed bag, tax cuts great, strong defense, WOT great, Supreme court, outstanding.
No child left behind, immigration policy, Medicare drug plan abysmal.
Sad as it is to say still the best President aside from Reagan since what, Eisenhower?
You take care too.
IMO, the jury will be out on that for some time. We have allowed 75,000 Saudi Students to enter the U.S. under the education visa program. If as I suspect this blows up on us, there isn’t a prayer that this guy will be better thought of than Jimmy Carter.
Our illegal immigration is also poised to creat major headaches.
What with giving Africa $45 billion and then the medication package for Seniors, Bush has saddled us with some thorny problems.

Alas, history is a great tool, in retrospect you think the French would let Hitler bring troops into the Rhineland if they knew what was in store?
I don't profess to know what's going on, maybe I give the CIA, FBI etc. too much credit.
Is it possible these students are screened?
Is it possible the calls they receive are monitored leading to arrests of students conspiring to commit terrorist acts?
Common sense are how I would categorize measures like these, luring in your prey is an age old custom. Is this administration using these methods?
One can only hope.
I share that hope.
Alas, I must watch my beloved Red Sox now break my heart again while losing to the Evil Empire.
Like hoping for a true conservative to get elected President I will now hope Our manager will realize Beckett is done for the night and bring in a reliever.
Nighty nite. :-)
LOL, hope the game went well.
Take care...
