Here is the topic for an attempt at serious discourse: Who Was The Last Hollywood Conservative?
Ronald Reagan: Left Hollywood for the political arena;
John Wayne: Passed away in the 70's before Reagan was elected to the Presidency, still making films up to his death;
Charlton Heston: Was still working in the 1990's before Alzheimer's took him;
Please, discuss this with me and, if you can, add to the list?

Totally utterly agree with you.
People like Norris, Grammer, and Eastwood had their careers established before the Left truly came to power in the 90’s. They could afford to take the casting couch hit.
The rest of today’s celebrities - a word I now use as a perjorative - still have to wear their Party cards in their left breast pocket (over their hearts, like good Socialist men and women) and present their papers on demand.

I’m inclined to agree - it looks as if it was Heston.

He attended the last Republican Convention, and is a member of the NRA.

Schroder lives in Topanga Canyon, California with his wife, Andrea Bernard, and their four children. He is a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Schroder made an appearance on stage at the 2000 Republican National Convention, endorsing Presidential candidate George W. Bush. He is also a member of the National Rifle Association. Schroder has been playing chess since he was 7 years old and revealed that he and Kiefer Sutherland play chess on the set of 24. On the January 9, 2007 edition of CNN’s Larry King Live, Schroder announced he was changing his name back to Ricky. [2]

Thanks. I knew my facts were a little fuzzy on that.
Also, I don’t see Keiffor Sutherland’s name mentioned yet in this thread. (Speaking of fuzzy things, I’ve really got to check my spelling on these names. It’s embarassing!)

R. Lee ErmeyI love him!!
Mail Call is one of my favorite shows. And him in Full Metal Jacket is classic. The best drill Sergeant / boot camp scene ever in the movies!!!!

"If one does not believe in the statement in the Declaration of Independence, that ALL are created by their Creator, one does not believe in life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." While conservatism and the Declaration of Independence are not mutually exclusive, the Declaration of Independence is not about conservatism. Conservatism is about smaller government, lower taxes and self reliance.

Tom Selleck, Tony Danza and Patricia Heaton are all conservatives. Fred Thompson gets something like an 86% rating at the ACU. Bruce Willis is nominally conservative at any rate.

Efrem Zimbalist, Jr., reads scripture on one of the religion channels, so I assume he’s a conservative. On the other hand, he’s so old he doesn’t count. I don’t think he’s done any acting in the last 40 years. He must have made some good investments back when he was doing “77 Sunset Strip.”

Babylon 5, for a few episodes, IIRC.

Newsmeat is an interesting list. Of course some of those folks have been dead for decades so if it shows them giving $500 it would be much more today. Also 20 years ago conservative Democrats were not quite as extinct as they are today.
Looking over the list it looks like the GOP does a little better with the music industry than with film.
