Many of you know that I help organize the Duncan Hunter "meetup" group(s). I decided to peek in at the "competition" and found it very interesting that Ron Paul supporters are being urged to attend the MoveOn.org rally....
http://ronpaul.meetup.com/1/boards/view/viewthread?thread=3421862
I post this because I know there are a lot of folks on FR that support Ron Paul.. I just wonder if you are participating in this effort.. or what you think about this whole business of catering to MoveOn.org
.... quote from an active Ron Paul supporter
Somebody posted a thread concerning moveon, and letting their members know about Ron Paul. As a member of moveon.org, I received today an invitation to create an anti-war rally on August 28th. They will be doing rallies all across the nation on that day. We should invade this event. During the rally, bring anti-war stickers, signs, and flags -- and also Ron Paul signs. Introduce moveon members to Ron Paul, the REAL anti-war candidate! Anti-war people will ask about Ron Paul and be introduced to him on that day. Don't be rude, just gently introduce people to the peace candidate. Moveon.org is well cordinated, so if enough of our people show up at their rallies, we might be able to convert a huge number of people.
I have already created a moveon.org anti-war rally, on the 28th at 7pm, right outisde of the West Covina Mall. Please, everybody who can in this group, COME. It's on the corner of Vincent and Plaza Drive in West Covina.

We didnt turn into a quasi-socialist country overnight. Its like having the best rudder that has ever been made, but its two feet long and you are putting it on an ocean liner. We are not going to do a 180 degree turn in a four year presidential term.
If you're going to recycle the old 2000 election slogans we read ad nauseum here in GWB's first campaign, don't bother. "Incrementalism" is undeniably RINO-speak for "our GOP brand of big-government nanny-state liberalism".

Re: Post 768.
I also agree with almost nothing that moveon.org says. However, some of its memebers hold the war issue above all others. I believe those people could be brought into the freedom movement, due to Ron Paul’s strong ideal of a non-interventionist foreign policy — which is the advice of the founders.

Please ask Ron Paul’s campaign if he will veto the first spending bill that contains massive spending that is not authorized by the constitution.

I am neither a truther nor a moveon.org type. I subscribe to moveon’s mailing list, but also the mailing lists of many organizations from across the spectrum. I just like to see what people are up to. We are invading THEIR event, and the Ron Paul supporters who are attending are not part of them. We are trying to pull some of them into our movement, not the other way around.

“Just a clue for ya. . .being associated in any way with moveon.org is NOT a good way to garner support from conservatives.”
There is NO association between the Ron Paul campaign and moveon.org. They are simply a target group, because many of them care deeply about war issues, and might like Ron Paul’s non-interventionist stance. In the same way, we have done rallies at gun shows. That does not mean that we are associated with the gun shows, or that our members have guns. We are simply going after target audiences that might be persuaded by the freedom message.

Ask 'em yourself. Or submit a YouTube for the upcoming (someday) YouTube debate.
The campaign is very busy and is trying to integrate a recent 300% increase in hired campaign staff (from 8 to over 30 staffers) and get control of our hundreds of very busy MeetUps. Poor Kent Snyder must be going out of his mind trying to corral that herd of cats plus deal with all the media demands for Dr. Paul and the very busy campaign schedule.
I'm sorry we're not as organized as you would like. But as we've said before, no one expected this scale of success and response to Dr. Paul's message. And it isn't Ron Paul himself as much as it is the right message. However, RP's record of no-compromise positions is exactly the kind of person you need to press forward an agenda for radical change in government. You might recall that a lot of people scoffed at Newt during the year prior to the Contract class of '94. But they weren't laughing at Newt when he became Speaker so unexpectedly.

“Well this is a conservative site, and in the past, third party anarchist types seemed to show up at elections to try and take votes away from competitive Republican candidates to help Democrats get elected and it is good to keep an eye on everything.”
Ron Paul is neither third party, nor anarchist.

I would NEVER vote for either Rudy or Hillary.

And you think Ron Paul has a chance against this? Do you lie to the majority to get them to vote for Ron Paul?

Most Americans believe government can play a role in fixing the health care system. Two-thirds say the federal government should guarantee that all Americans have health insurance and a similar number says providing health insurance for all is a more serious problem than keeping health care costs down.
Eighty-four percent of Americans favor expanding government programs in order to give health insurance to all uninsured children.

The majority of Americans know the current system is messed up, and it is. However, the goal should not be to increase governmnet involvement in medicine. It is percisely the government’s involvement that is causing the problem.

Your first warning is that it's from SeeBS, surely a libmedia propaganda mill. Add in that there is no verifiability or accountability to these libmedia polls and how they show wildly different polling results (always anti-Republican) until the last minute before an election when we finally have a real poll.
Disregard this kind of disinformation if you have serious goals. You cannot pay attention to them if you expect to win anything. It's like in WW II. If you wanted to win, you didn't spend your time quoting Tokyo Rose. Because she was a defeatist, a traitor and a liar.
You know, every last FReeper of the pre-Bush era here at FR knew that argument by heart. I keep hoping more folks will really grasp that again. These polls are not our friends. They are the propaganda tools of our enemies.

Next, they will be encouraging Ron Paul to run as an independent. The left will probably even donate money for him to run, if he runs as an independent.

If the nation is perverted enough to vote in either anti-life candidates, they are getting exactly what they asked for
And if those that think they are religious can't get past child link mindsets, they will continue to get the worst pro abortion people in.
The biggest swing voters that enable abortion IMO have been the so called religious folks who are so narrow sighted that they cut their nose off their face.

We are trying to win over conservatives, liberals, independents, moderates, libertarians.. MANY different types of people. I have stated that we campaigned at a gun show. Some of us are also going to the Republican state convention in Palm Springs. We have a wide range of people in our campaign, and we are proud of that. The freedom message brings people together, it doesn’t divide us.
