Ron Paul supporters urged to attend MoveOn.org Rally !
RonPaul MeetUp Group ^ | 26 August 2007 | David Osborne

Posted on 08/26/2007 10:44:41 AM PDT by davidosborne

Many of you know that I help organize the Duncan Hunter "meetup" group(s). I decided to peek in at the "competition" and found it very interesting that Ron Paul supporters are being urged to attend the MoveOn.org rally....

http://ronpaul.meetup.com/1/boards/view/viewthread?thread=3421862

I post this because I know there are a lot of folks on FR that support Ron Paul.. I just wonder if you are participating in this effort.. or what you think about this whole business of catering to MoveOn.org

.... quote from an active Ron Paul supporter

Somebody posted a thread concerning moveon, and letting their members know about Ron Paul. As a member of moveon.org, I received today an invitation to create an anti-war rally on August 28th. They will be doing rallies all across the nation on that day. We should invade this event. During the rally, bring anti-war stickers, signs, and flags -- and also Ron Paul signs. Introduce moveon members to Ron Paul, the REAL anti-war candidate! Anti-war people will ask about Ron Paul and be introduced to him on that day. Don't be rude, just gently introduce people to the peace candidate. Moveon.org is well cordinated, so if enough of our people show up at their rallies, we might be able to convert a huge number of people.

I have already created a moveon.org anti-war rally, on the 28th at 7pm, right outisde of the West Covina Mall. Please, everybody who can in this group, COME. It's on the corner of Vincent and Plaza Drive in West Covina.

Yes, GW is a great president

I believe that anyone who considers GWB a "great president" is delusional. IMO he has not only been destructive to our republic, but also a great embarassment. His legacy will include the words "the only American president to allow massive invasion without firing a shot in defense".

Terrorism attacks and continue terrorism threats and open borders and nil enforcement of immigration laws DO NOT MIX.

I had to go back and read about the invincible Martian killing-machines again. Definitely a memorable post. Heh-heh.

The speed limit in the town is 35mph.. there was no need for chargers.

The crooks obey the speed laws where you live?

Defeat comes from the self-destructive foreign policy of intervention. You are your worst enemy.

It’s cowardly to continue to support the disastrous, World Government policy of intervention, which is NOT what the founders intended. “Peace, commerce, honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none.” Remember? And you call yourself a conservative?

Kind of hard to be “strong defense” when as a candidate, Paul proposes a CUT/RUN & SURRENDER strategy, just like a LIEberal DUmocrat. His words play right into the enemies hands and they’d just love for the US to elect a weak-kneed RINO.

By the way, where’s the fence that Ronnie Paul built? How about the anti-illegal immigration bills? Actions speak much louder than empty rhetoric, especially from a RINO LIEbertarian.

I don’t base my vote on Clinton....any REAL conservative would beat either. It’s when you put up squishy moderates and empty suit RINOs when the party fractures. Guess some will never learn the lessons of 1992 and 1996.

My support and my vote will be based on the STRONGEST conservative candidate in the race. Paul’s record doesn’t even come close.

No thanks! I agree with nothing the moveOn.org bastards stand for. You go make peace with the terrorists.

Bull-caca that is pure insanity.

Hillary will try to install socialized medicine.
Hillary will raise the hell out of taxes and lead the Congress to numerous bad laws, judges and increased pro-abortion laws.

Get your thinking cap in please, you couldn’t be more wrong in your statement to me based on the facts in evidence.

even if some of us don't agree with the mission

But, surely you see that general support for troops in an unjust or unnecessary mission is no solace for families of the level that KNOWING their sacrifice was essential would be. It can be a small solace that someone was doing their duty; it can be a great solace that their duty was critical to your nation and world.

It's the difference between "patriotic talk" and "really, truly a necessity."

GW, it is short-sighted to ignore that the potentates of the Middle East have used terrorism and assassination for centuries. Saddam was just another mid-east ruler in a long line. He used terrorism for his purposes, and terrorists don't need large quantities of WMDs to create terror.

A small lab in a basement with the right recipe and the right chemicals, and you've got what's necessary. A weapon and a delivery system.

Personally, I would have taken out Iran first. They are more culpable than Iraq.

32,458 Ron Paul Supporters in 790 Groups from 648 Cities …and 4,887 more waiting to hear when a new Meetup starts!

Gotta wonder how many of them are 'truthers' and moveon.org types.

“Sounds like you worked for a Police Dept.”

No, the federal government, although I have no doubt our local government is the same. During our downtown “revitalization”, the Mayor’s property was “revitalized” first. Cronyism, nepotism and largess rule. The vagrants downtown weren’t a problem until the a visiting business associate of the mayor was repeatedly panhandled. Only then did it become a priority.

It’s more like WE are using moveon to get Ron Paul’s message across.

Just a clue for ya. . .being associated in any way with moveon.org is NOT a good way to garner support from conservatives.

Ron Paul’s idea of foreign policy isn’t appealing to you to begin with, so why bother?

In Lawhead’s version, Pelagius is treated well, but that isn’t the point.

The Celtic research is so good, and such an unobtrusive part of the story, that the culture is alive.

The dominant Christianity of the era should have been that from Iona. It would have tracked better with the Eastern Fathers than with Rome.

Cut and run, open borders before 9/11, conspiracies regarding 9/11, talking like he needs meds all the time.

Maybe he did not make a fan out if me...
Great point.

We call that unelectable outside of his local area.

I’m not interested in garnering support from short-sightedness. You work on purism. Ron Paul supporters don’t.

I have a brother who is a “geek” in the sci-fi sense. He also happens to be a raving leftist, conspiracy kook. (I haven’t asked him what he thinks of Paul.)

Bring him here. We Friends Of Ron could probably get him into our Meetups and registered as a Republican, surely an improvement.

We RP supporters are always trying to help out in family troubles provided it doesn't involve big-government programs.

Well this is a conservative site, and in the past, third party anarchist types seemed to show up at elections to try and take votes away from competitive Republican candidates to help Democrats get elected and it is good to keep an eye on everything.

When some third party types here try and sabotage regular elections telling folks to throw votes away to them to help Democrats get elected, some people have to stick around to respond to such nonsense IMO.
