Many of you know that I help organize the Duncan Hunter "meetup" group(s). I decided to peek in at the "competition" and found it very interesting that Ron Paul supporters are being urged to attend the MoveOn.org rally....
http://ronpaul.meetup.com/1/boards/view/viewthread?thread=3421862
I post this because I know there are a lot of folks on FR that support Ron Paul.. I just wonder if you are participating in this effort.. or what you think about this whole business of catering to MoveOn.org
.... quote from an active Ron Paul supporter
Somebody posted a thread concerning moveon, and letting their members know about Ron Paul. As a member of moveon.org, I received today an invitation to create an anti-war rally on August 28th. They will be doing rallies all across the nation on that day. We should invade this event. During the rally, bring anti-war stickers, signs, and flags -- and also Ron Paul signs. Introduce moveon members to Ron Paul, the REAL anti-war candidate! Anti-war people will ask about Ron Paul and be introduced to him on that day. Don't be rude, just gently introduce people to the peace candidate. Moveon.org is well cordinated, so if enough of our people show up at their rallies, we might be able to convert a huge number of people.
I have already created a moveon.org anti-war rally, on the 28th at 7pm, right outisde of the West Covina Mall. Please, everybody who can in this group, COME. It's on the corner of Vincent and Plaza Drive in West Covina.

SOS, NJ.
Your rewriting of history, bashing of conservatives, and apologizing/supporting liberals is transparent, IMO
(no matter how you try to disguise it)
What did Reagan used to say “Trust but verify”? Seems he ignored his own advice in thinking it would be a one time amnesty.
I would perceive it being a judgment call with not the best judgment used by GWB.
We need the labor, we need the new taxpayers and having the newly made citizen’s vote wouldn’t hurt either. It was mis-guided and was oblivious to how the conservatives felt about the issue.
Immediately deporting 12 million people out of the US isn’t feasible. I refuse to defend GWB and the administration faking out everyone last year about building a border. They were working for a solution. It’s too bad the effort for a secure border didn’t begin in 2001.

A new thread on Ron Paul I’d like to see is “Ron Paul is elected President of the USA. Now what?”
We have the majority of the Democrats, a majority of the Media and about 1/3 of elected Republicans that would be in favor of shutting down the government before passing a “constitutionally authorized” budget.
How long will that last?
Partly because of age and ‘I suspect family size’ my son is no longer active duty .He could be recalled though.
Who I don’t want to worry about is 6 of my granddaughters who are draft age .
>Did you see my post 305?<
No I hadn’t. Absolutely amazing! Do you suppose someone is trying to tell us something?
“the rest of us are looking for a little less politics and little more truth”
AMEN!!!!
“BTW, you know way way way too much about moveons internal functioning.”
And how do you know that he knows “way way eay too much”?
Your rant displays many traits of the left.
I think any FReep of the MoveOns by a team led by Karsten and that Drew guy (tell he doesn't look like he was born to FReep those MoveOns) will have to be somewhat memorable. Can't wait for the debriefing and photos from Karsten later tomorrow!

"16 ADDITIONAL anti-war rally attendees from moveon have RSVP'd to attend as of my last update (currently 11:06pm on 8-26). Their numbers will definantly grow as more people add themselves by Tuesday. We need more Ron Paul supporters to RSVP!"

Gridlock is wonderful. How long will it last?
How could he sign a spending bill with 70% or more of all of the spending not authorized by the constitution? Would someone in the RP movement pose this question to him? I'd like to know his answer.
A freeze sounds wonderful and I have advocated that exact path to reducing government until our government consumes no more than 10% of our entire economy. Is it going to happen? I wouldn't bet much on it.
Trip E used the Wylers but from petronski I think...
I have been in meetings all day and ahd a minute so have not really looked.

I have been in meetings all day and had a minute so have not really looked.
I think Paul is a good guy, just a bit out on a few things that happen to be damned important. Now as for some of his supporters, you and I argue on several issues, but we have never corrected each others spelling, that's just creepy... ;-)
I guess my point is that putting a cherry on top of a pile of manure doesn’t make it any more desirable to me. (The manure being our representatives.)
We need more representatives that are insistent about returning our government to it’s constitutional limits. We can’t just impose our will on the socialists in the USA and expect them to sit there and take it. I know we would like to do this, but a President must be president for all of America.
We didn’t turn into a quasi-socialist country overnight. It’s like having the best rudder that has ever been made, but it’s two feet long and you are putting it on an ocean liner. We are not going to do a 180 degree turn in a four year presidential term.
Energies are better focused on increasing the turnover in the House and Senate. They have become entrenched in their parasitic existences.
Until we judge our representatives by how much money they leave in our pockets, instead of how much pork they bring home, we are never going to cut our government spending.
Hello,
I’m back. I probably won’t be on this board all day but I’ll check in every now and then to see what people are saying. For those of you who don’t know, I am the organizer of the event that this thread is about.
Regarding #753:
I would say that Ron Paul is not a coward in the least. From ronpaul2008.com: “He graduated from Gettysburg College and the Duke University School of Medicine, before proudly serving as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force during the 1960s. He and his wife Carol moved to Texas in 1968, where he began his medical practice in Brazoria County. As a specialist in obstetrics/gynecology, Dr. Paul has delivered more than 4,000 babies. While serving in Congress during the late 1970s and early 1980s, Dr. Pauls limited-government ideals were not popular in Washington. In 1976, he was one of only four Republican congressmen to endorse Ronald Reagan for president. Congressman Pauls consistent voting record prompted one of his congressional colleagues to say, Ron Paul personifies the Founding Fathers ideal of the citizen-statesman. He makes it clear that his principles will never be compromised, and they never are. Another colleague observed, There are few people in public life who, through thick and thin, rain or shine, stick to their principles. Ron Paul is one of those few.
Ron Paul sticks to his principles even (especially) when they are unpopular. He follows the constitution. He has been called the “one exception in the gang of 535 in Congress”. This has earned him the nickname “Dr. No”. He is a very strong man. He is not a coward.
