This is the closest yet he has come to a public "yes."
Labor Day?
Day after labor Day?

I’ve been saying for a while, that he won’t declare until after Summer is over, people aren’t mentally and physically back from Summer vacations, the kids are back in school, etc. No point in declaring when your key voter base isn’t paying attention.
Some time shortly after Labor Day.

Has anybody told him the old school rules may not be compatible with the new school world where in the nominee is decided on or before Feb 5?

Here’s your official preview of a FRed presidency, folks. Four long, tedious, weary years of the top dog waiting to decide whether to decide to decide. And then waiting a little longer.

Get ready for more hero-worship on this thread. Everything that Fred does is genius. He's outsmarting everyone by not doing anything! He's lulling the front-runners to sleep by appearing so old and frail. We don't need someone to give great speeches and make public appearances! We need a quiet thinker! Robbing the cradle isn't all that bad. Love transcends age...she's a professional! Lobbyists are an important feature of democratic government! We love lawyers! Newt Gingrich is my hero! Fred will win all 50 states! And my personal favorite: He's just like Reagan.
People, denial isn't just a river in Egypt!

Carl Cameron reported on FNS the other day that Thompson had accepted an invitation from Fox News to participate in the Republican Presidential debate in New Hampshire September 5.

Said the Fred, who's been testing the political waters: "Well, the water is pretty warm. I like the temperature a lot."It takes most of us about two seconds to test the water temperature. It takes Fred six months.
Maybe more. We've heard the rumors of the upcoming announcement any minute now for months.
It's become a joke.

Meanwhile, all us who are supporting REAL candidates, REAL men, are just fools according to Fred T. We, and our candidates, are playing by some new silly rules that he doesn’t have to abide by. He’s above all that. All the hard work, all the sacrifice, all the debates, all the straw polls, all the walking, talking, “ask me anything” town hall meetings. Fred doesn’t have to do all that silly stuff that the others planned for years and years if not all their lives. Fred is still deciding if he really wants to do this.
I never liked this guy and with each passing day, I like him less.
