BREAKING: FIDEL CASTRO IS DEAD (Claims leading Cuban Blog)
Babalu ^ | 8-24-07 | Val Prieto

Posted on 08/24/2007 12:31:34 PM PDT by FormerACLUmember

My cellphone has not stopped ringing for the past ten minutes. Various sources inform that an announcement will come within the next few minutes from the Cuban government on Cuban TV and media. Stay tuned and we'll see if we've been manipulated once again or if today is the birth date of Cuba's liberty.

Update: Here's the deal and what I know up to now, as of 1500 hours, August 24, 2007:

First, South Florida Law Enforcement is on alert. An EOC (Emergency Operations Center) has been set-up and manned somewhere in Homestead.

Im also told Local and State government agencies have food, bottled water, and other necessities - valued in the millions - stored and/or staged in Homestead at or near the EOC.

I am presently verifying whether Coast Guard and DHS and Border Patrol agencies are on high alert. (Verified 01445)

Local News stations are abuzz, mostly on reports very much like the above, with massive law enforcemnt mobilizations throughout Dade county.

Local emergency medical services notified to be on alert by law enforcement agencies.

Im told - and still awaiting confirmation - that buses in Havana have been recalled to terminals and that Cuban workers have been sent home. (still unconfirmed 1500)

Again, I am loathe to publish the title as I did in this post, but I would be remiss in not telling you all what I know, right now. All of my sources are good but the Cuban government, as we all know, is masterful at controlling media and information and we should not rule out that this and last Friday's "news" have been and are feelers to see what the reactions are here, as well as who reacts within the island. If we've been duped we've been duped. If not, then bust out the champagne.

Once again, these may all be rumor to discredit us and other media sources. All we can do is exactly what we've been doing for quite some time now: wait and see.

More from Killcastro, with sources from within Cuba.

What worries me is that the mobilization of the National Guard in Florida may be to stop any attempt to interfere in Cuba's future by Florida's Cubans if they are allowed to act. Rest assured. That is ~precisely~ what the mobilization is for. :-(

What puzzles me is..WHY would they (whoever is in charge in Florida) want to do that? Don't we WANT a free Cuba? Wouldn't Cubans exiles help bring that about? Why would we want to stop this??? Please explain, as I don't understand.

I think it’s a fear that we’d get another Mariel boat lift, with criminals and psychos escaping Cuba, mixing in with refugees. I may be wrong, but I’m sure, given turmoil in Cuba, that many would head our way.

Once it’s announced that Castro has truly assumed room temperature, I believe we need to start massive airlifts of weapons, supplies and a few “straegic co-ordinators” to do whatever is needed to totally oust those in power. Then, we need to “guide” a pro-freedom, pro-capitalist leader to take over and bring that country back to the 21st Century.

That’s what I think.

If Castro were dead I could hear the cheers from the Island. We are only 100 miles away....hearing no cheers....

Unfortunately I think we have already seen what will happen when he does croak if he hasn’t already.
Raoul seems to be more up to the job than we thought. When castro turned the reigns over to his brother there was basically no change.
I fear that’s what we are looking at.

Hey Freepers, how good is your Spanish? I've been checking the Spanish newspapers for news about Fidel, because in the past they were among the first to publish any news. Accidentally I run into an article on Cuba/USA relations and I started reading the comments from the readers. I know most Spanish people don't like us (hey, my own family kind of kicked me out of the family when I became a US citizen), but I have never read such venom and nonsense. If your Spanish is any good at all, click HERE and give them a piece of your mind. I already did!

The Cubans would be the last to know. He's DEAD...a well hidden fact from the starving Cubans. They're just trying to find food to keep from starving...

Actually, now that Fidel is dead...body locked up in a freezer...how insulting...shows how disrespectful the commies' are...to this fallen hero... ;o) What a hoot!!!

I hope he is dead. I could not begin to tell you the horror stories I have heard about his dictatorial, brutal rule.I am am still worried though that there will be little change since we will refuse to go in like we should have done at the Bay of Pigs.

DAD (spoken): I feel happy. I feel happy.
(sung)
I am not dead yet
I can dance and I can sing
I am not dead yet
I can do the Highland Fling

I am not dead yet
No need to go to bed
No need to call the doctor
Cause I'm not yet dead.

BODIES: He is not yet dead
That's what the geezer said
No, he's not yet dead
That man is off his head

He is not yet dead
So put him back in bed
Keep him off the cart because he's not yet dead.

Well now he's dead
You whacked him on the head
Sure, now he's dead
It makes me just see red
You are such a brute
To murder that old coot
You homicidal bastard, now he's really dead
Who is the knave who put him in his grave
And who needs to manage his anger?

LANCE: My name is Lancelot
I'm big, and strong, and hot.
Occasionally I do
Some things that I should not.

ROBIN: I want to be a knight
But I don't like to fight
I'm rather scared I may
Just simply run away

LANCE: I'll be right with you
Robin, through and through and through
So stick with me
And I'll show you what to do

ROBIN: We'll remain good chums
You can teach me how to dance

ROBIN & LANCE: We're going to enlist

ROBIN I'm Robin

LANCE And I'm Lance

CHORUS: Oh we're off to war
Because we're not yet dead
We will all enlist
As the Knights that Arthur led.

DAD: I am coming too
My name will be Sir Fred
I'll be your musician
Cos I'm not yet dead

CHORUS: Oh we're not yet dead
To Camelot we go
To enlist instead
To try and earn some dough
And so although
We should have stayed in bed
We're going off to war
Because we're not yet dead

FRED: I am coming, too
My name will be Sir Fred
I'll be your musician
'Cause I'm not yet dead

LANCE: To kill
I will
It gives me such a thrill

ROBIN: To sing
And dance
And keep an eye on Lance

ALL: We're going off to war
We'll have girlfriends by the score

DAD: We'll be shot by Michael Moore!

ALL: Because we're not yet dead.

AH...we’ll go in...not like the ‘bay of pigs.’ Now that Fidel is out of the way...we’ll not go in with guns a blazing...a plan is in place to bring Cuba back to it’s glory days with a democracy this time not a dictator...not much doubt of that...chavez will try and stop it....but we’ve got some very very smart Cuban Americans whose been patiently waiting...with a plan...

Geez....those were good cars. Some Cubans are going to make small fortunes peddling them in the states.

Cuba has an obscure law which prevents the export of any of those old cars, so that'll have to change if the cars are to be legally shipped anywhere. Of course, they could still strap each one to a raft made of empty oil drums and float it to Key West when nobody is looking.

Pity... there's even a Mercedes Gullwing down there. Anywhere else in the world, it'd be worth a king's ransom. Bet it's got a Lada engine in it by now, though.

Hmm ... it doesn't appear to be aimed at the Cubans here in FLA. It's being called an 'Exercise', and the LEOs are involved.

They're not profiling hispanics, but they are profiling .............. FRegards

I fervently pray for their freedom, and also that Americans and others would not start using Cuba as their playground, like they did before Castro.

Other than cigars and sugar, what would you have them do to eat? Tourism would be the greatest economic boon they could secure. Billions could pour in to establish resorts and raise their standard of living. What else do they have to offer that could put food and education before every family in the island prison? Just curious...
