BREAKING: FIDEL CASTRO IS DEAD (Claims leading Cuban Blog)
Babalu ^ | 8-24-07 | Val Prieto

Posted on 08/24/2007 12:31:34 PM PDT by FormerACLUmember

My cellphone has not stopped ringing for the past ten minutes. Various sources inform that an announcement will come within the next few minutes from the Cuban government on Cuban TV and media. Stay tuned and we'll see if we've been manipulated once again or if today is the birth date of Cuba's liberty.

Update: Here's the deal and what I know up to now, as of 1500 hours, August 24, 2007:

First, South Florida Law Enforcement is on alert. An EOC (Emergency Operations Center) has been set-up and manned somewhere in Homestead.

Im also told Local and State government agencies have food, bottled water, and other necessities - valued in the millions - stored and/or staged in Homestead at or near the EOC.

I am presently verifying whether Coast Guard and DHS and Border Patrol agencies are on high alert. (Verified 01445)

Local News stations are abuzz, mostly on reports very much like the above, with massive law enforcemnt mobilizations throughout Dade county.

Local emergency medical services notified to be on alert by law enforcement agencies.

Im told - and still awaiting confirmation - that buses in Havana have been recalled to terminals and that Cuban workers have been sent home. (still unconfirmed 1500)

Again, I am loathe to publish the title as I did in this post, but I would be remiss in not telling you all what I know, right now. All of my sources are good but the Cuban government, as we all know, is masterful at controlling media and information and we should not rule out that this and last Friday's "news" have been and are feelers to see what the reactions are here, as well as who reacts within the island. If we've been duped we've been duped. If not, then bust out the champagne.

Once again, these may all be rumor to discredit us and other media sources. All we can do is exactly what we've been doing for quite some time now: wait and see.

More from Killcastro, with sources from within Cuba.

Fidel must have watched the wrong movie. Had he been smart,
he would have come to the U.S. for his intestinal surgery.

The only things kept in good shape in Cuba are 1950’s automobiles.

I’m confused. Is that Moore waiting for service in a socialist country? Maybe the key to the leftist mentality is to get all things backwards, e.g., socialist countries have good medical systems, we have a bad medical system; terrorists who commit atrocities against civilians are the good guys, those who try to defend the citizens are the bad guys; gun ownership by criminals isn’t a problem, gun ownership by law-abiding people is dangerous.

Been good. Opposite problem here, business is down but got a big contract starting in September.

Glad to see you.

...and he’s not only merely dead, he’s really most sincerely dead.

What’s “pining”?

A painful longing.

Woe to those who call evil good, and who call good evil.

Ah, OK. Webb knows sooo many people, it's amazing. Your story sounded like somebody else that I happen to know about through him.

Anyway, enjoy the site and come on out for a show sometime!
Here's Webb's page of upcoming Tour Dates.

Anybody who likes good music, but doesn't know about Webb, is really shortchanging themselves!

Regards,

Has the presence of a rumor been confirmed by officials or only by unnamed sources? I’d hate to tell my friends all about a rumor of a rumor without knowing that, in fact, a rumor is circulating and have them tell me they can’t find the rumor.

Michael Moore is a mixed message.

Most see him sitting in a Cuban hospital where patients die before they can be treated.

Michael wants free health care because he has so abused his own body (and others).

Rumors are flying fast and furious, but there remains a mood of skepticism in the air since we were burned by the “Castro is dead” announcement last year.

I have a feeling he was dead then too. He's been dead for quite some time now.

Is that the real official movie poster for Sicko?

It seems like there are 2 ways to read that poster and one of them is not good.

Is MM sitting in a US waiting room or is he in Cuba?

>>>It’ll be interesting to see how he is eulogized in the MSM, and by prominent Democrats (not to mention Hollywood stars.)<<<

It will be interesting to see the actual conditions inside Cuba exposed by some real journalists and bloggers if they are now able to get in country.

I don't think this will be a peaceful transition in Cuba... I wouldn't doubt that a civil war breaks out but will be over fairly quickly when Florida's Cuban community mobilizes support for forces of liberty!

What worries me is that the mobilization of the National Guard in florida may be to stop any attempt to interfere in Cuba's future by Florida's Cubans.

If Cuba opens up, there will be a flood of old car collectors down there bidding up the prices for the '57 Chevies and other old iron....Cuban's won't believe the bonanza that they have been forced to sit on for 40 years.

Might be the best lesson in capitalism they can get!!

Is MM sitting in a US waiting room or is he in Cuba?;

Probably the former, judging by the sign and newspaper, both in English. But the knock on socialized medicine and single-payer systems like British and Canadian health services is the long wait--unless Moore is predicting what will happen in the U.S. if they adopt his (mixed) message. Too, there is the possibility the poster was photoshopped.
