I have read on FR that it is the black caucus that wanted to bring in groups from Somali. They settled some in Maine and apparently some in Minnesota.
That doesn’t make sense. It’s very cold in those places. These people have had a hard time adjusting and learning how to deal with such things as indoor plumbing, washing machines and electric stoves.
I'm not sure I would have shot him, maybe just bash his head with my softball bat first then call 9/11......

* “Blacks are an estimated 39 times more likely to commit violent crime against a white person than vice versa, and 136 times more likely to commit robbery.” (If decent black folks have trouble hailing a cab, and they do, these numbers may help explain it.)
* Black-on-white rape is 115 times more common than the reverse.
Even the two most famous sexual assaults by white men on black women in the last two decades – the Tawana Brawley and Duke rape cases – turned out to be hoaxes.
What do these statistics tell us? A message the Post will not report. The real repository of racism in America manifest in violent interracial assault, rape and murder is to be found not in the white community, but the African-American community. In almost all interracial attacks, whites are the victims, not the victimizers.

I didn’t know that. My daughter studied in Italy two years ago and witnessed a fight outside a bar one night. One man beat up another pretty badly and the police watched. Finally, my daughter’s friend stepped up and performed first aid and asked people to help her. When they saw an American student helping, the police finally assisted her.
I believe that MN has the largest Somali population in the US.
It is the Kitty Genovese story all over again. Not being funny but the first thing that came to mind when I saw the story on the news was the old Phil Och’s song “Outside of a small circle of friends”

I gotta wonder at the slowness of the cops response. And any of the neighbors who ignored the incident will answer for it one day, if not in this life then in the next.

Why on God’s green earth did they send them to Minnesota. It’s freezing there in the winter.
They sent some to Maine because their Senator Snowe invited them. It’s freezing there too.
Why on God’s green earth are we importing Somalis yet leaving the Iraqi Christians to be murdered?
When the call was made, it was called in as “two drunks fighting” which lowered the priority of the call. Check the link in my above post.
My first question: was their door closed? I’d be happy to grab my carry-Kimber and stop a crime in progress... if I could see what was truly going on. But I’m not going to try to break someone’s front door just because I hear yelling inside. That merits a 911 call for me. Let the police deal with the surprises inside. For all I know, it could be a TV, some kids making a home movie, etc... and I’d merely open myself to liability for attempting to be a good neighbor.
