but it’s okay that the democrats have been making the comparison to ‘cut and run’ just like in Vietnam..what jokes they all are.

it rings in my ears hearing them say ‘this is another Vietnam’. They just can’t handle the truth, the way in which the President compared it. Loser morons.

I thought the President gave an historically accurate account. Too bad the Dems forget history, especially their role in it.

... saying that drawing parallels is inaccurate and irresponsible.

Scusi, what happened to another Vietnam once the comparison got awkward?

The U.S. left has never accepted the responsibility for the loss of life which resulted from the abrupt, premature withdrawal from Viet Nam.

Well, they had to devise a plan. As you well know, that isn’t exactly their forte these days.

I guess this “dipped in rivers of blood, bones and skulls” truth couldn’t be ignored.

Good luck refuting the true history of it all, democrats.

Responsibility really sucks when the multi-million spirits of your victims come home to roost.

Dems haven’t forgotten their history - they’re hoping to god the rest of us have, that’s why they’re so pissed off.

Have no fear. Within a few months, at the most, some members here will have, again, surrendered to the constancy of the leftardic propaganda spin.

Just as now, you will often get the “all the POTUS said was “go shopping” bullsh$$ from the weak and stupid.

Now, after this latest in his many good speeches is spun, parsed and lampooned ad nausem, we’ll surely see, in this forum, proclamations on the POTUS stupidly trying to identify Iraq with Vietnam.

Those who’ve allowed themselves to be put upon their knees by our enemy will tend to stay on their knees for our enemy.

Sure they are... the Democrats are getting mightily defensive. They are still hankering for defeat - just like in Vietnam.

Democrat's reply:

(clicks tongue) "Well, like, d'uh...I mean, like how big is the VietNamese voting block anyway? I mean it's not like it's Dafur or something..."

Just a couple weeks ago, John Kerry (who served in Vietnam) said, “We heard that argument over and over again about the bloodbath that would engulf the entire Southeast Asia, and it didn’t happen.”

Now, Lurch says, “Invoking the tragedy of Vietnam to defend the failed policy in Iraq is as irresponsible as it is ignorant of the realities of both of those wars.”

If, as he said, there was no bloodbath after we were forced to abandon the South Vietnamese, just what “tragedy of Viet Nam” is there to compare to?

That’s what I love about Dem Dems, they just can’t keep ther stories straight.

The Democrats are still lost in Vietnam. At last report, they were seen trying to find their way out of the Mekong Delta.

I think the following is the best visual summary of the Democrat's complete reliance and dependence on "Defeat in Iraq" and their absolute panic over the goods news being reported now...

At least Vietnam had war fronts. Iraq is not much more than gussied up policing.

Basically the President said that we failed in Vietnam and we do not want to fail in Iraq. He is absolutely right! Our withdrawal in Vietnam had direct consequences in terms of millions of deaths. I remember the movie “The Killing Fields.” What surprised me then and again, now, is the inability of the Democrats to connect the dots and acknowledge their culpability. I guess that Marxists cannot and will not admit to themselves or anyone else that they are attempting to implement a failed policy.

I remember the movie “The Killing Fields.”

I do too. Re-watch the movie if you have the time.

The "spin" in the movie is really outrageous too.

The NY Times reporter who got his Pulitzer is given the sympathetic portrayal of being "haunted" by leaving his friend behind, so the reporter goes and watches video tapes that show looped footage of B-52s and civilian destruction. Yup - all the military's fault.

Moreover, the NY Times is elevated to hero status in the movie, as are other media.

The military Colonel in the movie is portrayed as an "out of control, arrogant, war mongering John Wayne type" right out of Hollywood biased movie script 101.

The movie does portray the abuses of the Pol Pot regime, but always "spins" it back to have the US military or Nixon blame, while totally absolving the Democrats and Liberals who just wanted us "OUT OF THE WAR!" without giving them any of the blame for the re-education camps, civilian slaughter, torture, or anything else that became reality because we did retreat.
