On the day the memorial is dedicated. Synchronicity/coincidence.

Yes. Hard. Students are back and school is starting. Then this. Must be difficult all the way around.

This is either Divine recognition of the event, a la the 911 pick 3 from the NY lottery in 2001, or umm. Well? Anywaym it must be difficult for the students and their parents.

Could be that some dumb-ass left a still-burning charcoal grill inside overnight.

It comes out of millions of automobiles every day. Its also a preferred form of suicide; odorless, painless, and no mess. Start the ole car in the garage and stretch out on a lawn chair, then peacefully fall asleep and ruin the lives of your loved ones.

That said, these people should be OK. CO will leave nausea, vomiting, and one hell of a headache, but if you have a headache after breathing it that's a good thing. No head ache, bad thing, because that usually means you're dead.

CO being carbon monoxide, for those who didn’t do so well in chemistry class.

Ok, it comes out of cars, but that isn’t a CO leak.

They said it is a leak. Where are we collecting or piping CO that leaked?

While I’m on the subject, will our east coast libs who want to ban guns because of the Korean now want to ban cars or other CO emitters because of this incident? After all, its not the Korean’s fault, its the gun’s fault. Can we now apply the same logic to the source of the CO? It must be the car’s fault, right? Or the furnace’s, or the grill’s, or the space heater’s, or whatever the source of this was?

“Ok, it comes out of cars, but that isn’t a CO leak.”

Sorry to be so slow on the uptake. A leak. CO in a pipe. I get it now. You are absolutely right. This is a great point, and a flaw in the story.

Any exhaust port on campus is a likely suspect. I would look at back-up generators, laboratory exhaust hoods, heating systems, etc.

The fact that this many people got sick leads me to believe that they were in an enclosed environment where such a port was present. I haven't actually read the MSNBC story yet, but I'm going there now.
