Don't look now -- but Hurricane Dean could be headed for Louisiana (possibly Terrebonne Parish). The very reliable GDFL model indicates that Hurricane Dean may take a more northwesterly track than other models that have it heading into Texas and Mexico. The pull north may occur if the upper level low in place takes it sweet time dissipating. If that happens, then Katy bar the door. Next Tuesday could be very interesting.
There is still a lot of ocean between Jamaica and the cental Gulf Coast; so conditions may change. One thing is certain -- this Storm will be very strong and likely will hit CAT 4 or possible CAT 5 based on water temperature and its projected path.
I hope we don’t have to evacuate a lot of people from Houston to New Orleans! That would really be a drag.
Has La done anything to protect themselves against this new threat?
Or even a Rita. The Eastfork clan and all the HAT chapter is watching this closely.
No kidding, let’s not have a repeat.
How are you doing Easty?
Whatever God does, he does twice.........Old Jewish proverb.......
I remember the Rita thread vividly. I think by Sunday we should know if it’s a upper TX coast (my guess), MX or LA storm.
My vet here in Fresno said that 70% of the dogs that were in NO were infected with heartworm. Seventy percent!
Quite well, and you? Need too see more of you at some of our HAT functions!BTW, how’s the 4 legged brat doing?
“No kidding, lets not have a repeat.”
I guess we could call it a chocolate shake
Yup, Saturday is a gas station and liquer store run day.
They need rain...
I'm reading your comment and the one to which you replied and wondering how it occurred to you to post that.
I would venture to say that 70% of the dogs here in Texas have heartworms.
Ha! We just got back from Spec’s. I had to make reservations for a trip to Dallas for Monday of next week and the lady that took the reservations said that the hotels are already getting full for the end of the week.
Oh geez...here we go again. This thing better turn and hit Florida or something cuz Jeb will actually order an evacuation and it won’t be politicized to death like Katrina. It’s really sad when even hurricanes turn into objects used for political gain and attacks. And bridges too, for that matter.
I’m busy, busy. Yeah I need to get out to functions more often, I’ve missed everyone. I was overswamped the first part of the year and things seem to be evening off now. Thank goodness.
The 4-footed psycho pup is just grand. She’s probably standing out in the back yard in the middle of the rainstorm. I’m watching it pour down in the Galleria area.
