Well, good for him... perhaps I’m a little cynical though, but I do wonder if the illness also enters into it.

Better be gone by Labor Day then, if the reasons for the timing of the Rove resignation be true.

I saw Tony on TV yesterday, he does not look good, I think he needs our prayers.

‘The White House has been shaken by the resignations of some of President Bush’s closest aides.’

What a load of crap.

Thats like saying MSNBC has been ‘shaken’ by low ratings....(chuckle)

Well that's a reason you don't usually hear given! I'm glad it's not because of his health. I've heard elsewhere on the forum that he may intend to run for John Warner's senate seat. Anyone know if that's true?

He said this on Hugh Hewitt’s show on Thursday. MSNBC with another scoop.

"Snow said. "This job has been such a pleasant surprise in how much I like it. I love it."

I would think that job would be mentally draining on him, which in my opinion would not be good for anyone fighting cancer.

Praying for you Tony.

I just remarked to my wife yesterday how his illness has aged him, how “worn” he looked. If money is his concern then I pray it isn’t because he is worried about not being there to earn it later in life. I have always enjoyed listening to Tony, I truly hope his reason he is giving is the truth.

George Stephanopolous held the same job as Tony in an impeached democrat former president's administration. Steffy is now a "impartial" interviewer on ABC. I'm betting Tony gets a call for a similar job at CBS or NBC within about a month of his departure from the WH.

Who want to bet? I know I'm right.

(not)

It’s a stressful job. Best wishes to you, Tony, in whatever you choose to do.

Tony Snow said Friday he'll leave sometime before the end of the Bush presidency because of financial pressures

I'm sorry but Tony wouldn't have taken the job if it didn't pay well enough. I fear for the worse.

It may not directly be his health, but if I was someone with a young family, and I had had cancer and a recurrence of the cancer, I’d sure want to be making as much money as I could and socking it away to help provide for my family in the event of a “worst case scenario.”

That is a ridiculously low salary for his position. You cannot get into a decent house in my neighborhood on that much. Take my word for it.

$168K a year isn't enough to deal with / gaze upon Helen Thomas.

Every. Single. Day.

I think Tony's a good guy, but as an open borders advocate and big supporter of "comprehensive" immigration reform (amnesty), it must have been hard on him, as I'm sure it was on the President, to see that the vast majority of Americans strongly and vociferously opposed you.

I'm sure he considered the finances when he took the job so I don't think that's the real reason. I don't agree with Tony on some issues, but I sure hope his health isn't deteriorating.

Two media people I like most, Brit Hume and Tony Snow.

Loved the fact they were on the same channel and it looks like it'll be that way again.
