I was listening to the news out of the corner of my ear when I heard FreeRepublic specifically mentioned as a "hate site" about fifteen minutes ago.
Ostensibly the long report was about the Klan using the web to recruit new wackos. Then the focus turned to Casa Maryland, and their director who claimed that calls for his murder had circulated on the internet by anti-immigrant bigots. It was then that the anchor identified FR by name as a hate site.
Again, in your twisted world those who advocate that the rule of law is enforced are somehow branded at “hateful.”
It’s “hateful” for people like me to not want Americans to be killed by illegals.
It’s “hateful” for people like me to not want Americans to be saddled with the mounting burden of costs required to provide social services to illegals.
It’s “hateful” for people like me to not want American kids forced into a situation where they’re education is diminished as the children of illegals are flooded into their classrooms, unable to speak English.
It’s “hateful” for me to become angry that five year-old American girls are raped at the hands of people who YOU insist should be allowed to stay in the US, even though they came here illegally.
It’s “hateful” for me to decry the increasing number of Americans killed on our highways at the hands of drunk illegals who wouldn’t be here if the government was doing its job as REQUIRED BY THE CONSTIUTITON.
Sure, I can see how someone like you, who tortures logic in almost every post, could try to paint me, and many other FReepers as “hateful,” for wanting to have our Constitution followed, our laws obeyed, and our citizens protected.
Real hate is found in Americans who show more concern for the “hopes and dreams” of criminals than the hopes and dreams of their fellow American citizens.
Hate is found in the cynical Americans who attack their fellow countrymen for insisting that the Constitution be followed rather than bowing to political correctness and that disgusting handful of Americans who put their own personal profit ahead of the best interest of the nation.
Hate is found in those Americans who are willing to flood this country with uneducated invaders, who bring crime, disease, gang violence, drugs, and host of other threats to our neighborhoods.
Hate is found in those who assist 20 Million illegal aliens to invade and/or remain in our country to threaten the employment opportunity for millions of low-income Americans.
Hate is found in those who assist 20 Million illegal aliens to invade and/or remain in our country, virtually guaranteeing that future generation of American high school graduates will have little possibility of being able to attain a middle class income and lifestyle working in the “trades”.
Hate is found in those who who aid millions of low-skilled workers to invade our economy, virtually guaranteeing that millions of black Americans will never work themselves out of poverty.
I can’t speak to what some idiot at the BOR show calls “hate.” But I can speak to what I’ve seen you post.
Its more than clear that you value the “hopes and dreams” of illegal aliens above the rights of American citizens, above the hopes and dreams of American kids, and above the rule of law.
If that’s not “hate,” I don’t know what is.
Ah, yes. So you gets to court, and the defense lawyer stands up and starts reading off a thick sheaf of the more flagrant and fragrant posts you can find here .... and what do you think the jury will do?
They'll tell FR to go pound sand, is what they're gonna do.
The problem starts here, sub. FR is not a hate site, and the vast majority of FReepers are good folks. But there is that scabrous few who make the rest of us look bad.
And, truth be told, the rest of us could do with exercising a bit of thought before we post some of the things we do, too.
Very well stated. I agree with you.
O’reilly is an entertainer who seldom uses and frankly doesn’t understand the internet.
He is parroting what his “people” tell him and he has embarrassed himself on this one but will never admit it because his ego is HUGH.
He did not do any research on Free Republic and is ignorant about what transpires here.
The problem though: what do some of those "strongly expressed opinions" look like to outsiders?
I'll tell you: they look deranged. "They" didn't need to do any demonizing -- a relatively small crowd of very loud FReepers did all the work. "They" just needed to find it and show it to the world.
Hey someone should react to this.
What do you think of freepers who lead the charge by labelling other freepers ‘nazis, KKKers, brown-shirt thugs...?
We will not be silenced. The fact that the news whores have taken notice is strong evidence of the effectiveness of that great grassroots forum known as Freerepublic.com.
“The offending post has been pulled. It wouldnt surprise me if the person who wrote it was a DUmmie trying to stir up trouble.”
Or a news anchor, or White House operative, or an anti-amnesty activist, or a socialist/communist agitator... The list goes on and on. I guess we could just say TROLL! (o;
> Folks, if you dont like FR, change the channel. Its that easy.
It is, isn’t it? Apparently not for the dogs-in-manger of the MSM like Bill O’Reilly, who want to restrict the power of mass speech to the elite few. They are jealous of it, and fear how we communicate and organize freely as the internet allows us to do.
We need to unite with other “upstart” media — talk radio, blogs, maybe even (shudder) Kos. Because we do hold this in common: we’re scaring the media establishment with an ability to use the First Amendment in ways that would have thrilled the Founding Fathers. Real democracy is the MSM’s worst nightmare.
OOPS... anti-amnesty should be PRO-amnesty in my last post! < blush > Sorry!
BOR didn’t really start this. The problem is the term “Hate Site”. Once that was invented, it’s a firehose that can be turned on anybody. How could anyone support a “hate Site”?
yeah, right. And I seriously thought I would stop visiting it because of the pro-amnesty crowd, spamming every thread, regardless of topic, with rhetoric that obviously was based purely on the desire to continue the smear campaign against taxpayers and citizens that are sick and tired of carrying the costs of the illegals that have invaded this country.
Good points you raise.
I've seen this sort of stuff thrown at talk radio for years- a person who hates both the format and host listens just long enough to hear something that riles him,. tunes out at that point, and yells foul. Forever- we had a poster bring up something Rush did 14 years ago, recently.
The talk show host who most accurately mirrors my own views- Ken Hamblin- said years ago, "you have to listen every day, for two or three weeks, or a month, to have any idea what the show or the host stand for."
Websites are no different- unless you follow everything, everyday, it's easy to cherry-pick one thing that rings your chimes, in a disagreeable fashion, and run with that, shouting "hate."
I've been here seven years, and it's a good site.
Baloney.
In the eyes of lefties and liberals, a conservative should not be allowed to speak against the illegal immigrant invasion. If they do, the lefties and liberals will scream racism.
In the eyes of lefties and liberals, a conservative should not be allowed to speak against abortion. If they dare to do so, the lefties and liberals will scream misogyny.
In the eyes of lefties and liberals, conservatives should not be allowed to speak against the homosexual agenda. If they do, the lefties and liberals will scream homophobia.
In the eyes of lefties and liberals, conservatives should not be allowed to speak.
Period.
One last thing... How often have you hit the abuse button on the comments that you judge to be "deranged?"
LOL! Well done.
