Democrats yesterday touted legislation to guarantee troops time at home between deployments to Iraq.

snip

The measure would require that regular military units returning from the war receive at least as much time at home as they spent in Iraq. Reserve units would get a home stay three times as long as they spent in the war zone

Draft anyone??

The "experts" are still at it. If they get their way, we'll need it. Or surrender, which is their real goal.p>

So if they can't get a surrender, they will make the the troops rest?

Pass it. Watch it get vetoed. Watch the veto verride fail. Let’s see how much more patience the American people have for a Congress that does nothing but obstruct. These are the fools who stay up all night failing to pass non-binding resolutions. Worthless idiots with an overall 14% approval rating.

If you can’t make ‘em surrender; make ‘em “rest.”

Hillary Clinton will repeal it once she ‘redeploys’ to Darfur, and Democrats will go along.

Barak Obama will repeal it once he ‘redeploys’ to Pakistan, and Democrats will go along.

“Democrats yesterday touted legislation to guarantee troops time at home between deployments to Iraq.”

The truth: Democrats are searching for a way — any way — to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in Iraq.

This legislation is another attempted abuse of power by Congress. Congress is not the Commander in Chief. They cannot tell President Bush, “We have a military, but you are not allowed to use it”

I've come to learn that whenever these DemonRats are pushing something for the "GOOD" of a group it always means that they have a not-so-hidden agenda to get their way on another matter.

In this instance the so-called "rest for the troops" simply means that the Commander in Chief has LESS troops to send into Iraq!!!

So they pretend to be kind & considerate to the troops with one hand but they are stabbing Bush with the other hand.

Never, never underestimate these Demonrats and their creative ways to do evil against this President and the Amercian people.

Hell, I doubt if these morons can manage to put on their own shoes without help.

In actuality, though, that isn't the issue. The damned traitors want to lose

This is nothing but a back door attampt to reduce the number of troops in Iraq and to return Iraq to the pre-surge violence levels.

This will probably show my ignorance, but couldn’t we take a 10,000 troops at a time and swap them with 10,000 troops stationed in S Korea, and then fly their families in for 30 days or more? Keep doing this until everyone gets a rest?
