Ski resort's 'Impeach Bush' vote backfires

'Hundreds' cancel trips, homeowner threatens to move out

Telluride: Some of the ski fans who have patronized Telluride, Colo., now are calling the ritzy resort "the land of radical liberals" and canceling planned vacations there because the town board voted to approve an ordinance calling for the impeachment of President Bush and Vice President Cheney.

One ski club of 175 people already has made plans to go elsewhere, another skier has threatened to sell his home there and another critic predicted the town soon would bow to Mecca.

"It's huge, unbelievable," said Telluride Mayor John Pryor. "Ski groups are canceling for the winter. Hundreds of people are bailing. The (town) website is flooded with people saying they're canceling their vacations here."

The storm of protest followed the town board's recent vote on the impeachment issue, according to a report in the Denver Post.

Why is anti-impeachment speech venomous but impeachment speech is OK?

Because it fits into the MSM narrative.

The Telluride City Council 1st amendment rights are being violated. They should not be punished for what they say.

To bad you can’t bulldoze Telluride.

Any questions as to the business sense of LIBERALS?

I hope they go broke.

I wouldn't hold my breath on that one. I used to attend a hang gliding festival every September in Telluride from the early 80's through the mid '90's. As with many Colorado mountain towns, it started changing about 10 years ago. Telluride has become overrun with rich Liberals in the past 10 years or so and it shows. It's a beautiful place, but the transformation to a Liberal hell hole is nearly complete. It all started when the Oprah moved into town, actually up on Gold Hill. Now, they don't let us fly there anymore. You see, we're just peons to the rich elite Liberals who run the place now. Really sad. I last visited Telluride about 2 years ago and couldn't wait to leave. I won't be going back.......

Think these tin-pot wannabees will get the message?

Nope. They will believe that the ones that canceled are "uneducated" and not "sophisticated enough" to "understand."

It will be a city of pure leftists, with no other opinions whatsoever. They can try to create their utopia there.

You mean like Aspen and Sundance?

Correct...They’re acting like a bunch of high school kids trying to get attention but the kids don’t have anything to lose.

“They just never figure out that actions have consequences.”

Actually, I think they figured it would bring business IN.

People like this think everyone else is like this. They are distanced from the real world.

That’s what happens when you ignore laws of physics: For every action, there’s an opposite and equal reaction.

Is this more of the politics of entertainment?

Surprise, surprise.

Liberals are shocked to find they don’t have the grip on the minds of the average American as they thought.

Welcome to reality, guys.

It was stupid, and I’m glad it backfired—just the way their foolishness backfired on the Dixie Chicks. [Haven’t heard or seen much of them, have we?]
That’s what happens when a person/group strays from its official objective. Start blabbing political and moral opinions in the wrong forum and people are offended and then do something about it.

I went to the town’s web site. They don’t appear to be posting any of these complaints. I’m sure they have received them, but I can’t find them.

Instant karma's gonna get you...

Unter Leuntnant Pryor, your pomposity is only surpassed by your remarkable discombobulation. If you act like an ass, expect thinking people to notice the stench. And your "stuff" sure does STINK!

Go to the Denver Post and get a load of this survey:

Post Poll - Kids 1st
Would you consider paying $30 on top of standard vanity license fees for Colorado’s newest specialty plate, which reads “Kids 1st?” It’s designed to raise money for child health and safety programs.

70% say NO. But, but but.. it’s for the children [in whiney voice]

Don't you just love how they are SHOCKED at the backlash because the POLLS indicated there is an overwhelming desire to impeach POTUS??

If a poll told you to jump off a bridge....

What is it with liberals, that they have to move into some of the most beautiful areas of our great nation, and ruin them, economically and otherwise? The whole West coast, The Eastern slope of the Rockies, the Great Lakes region, New England, all socialist hells. Montana is on the way, thanks to ultra-rich libs who want a retreat from the hustle and bustle of California. Idaho, the Dakotas, and the Intermountain West are untouched for the most part, but that’s mainly because there isn’t much there. The South is on its way, starting with Atlanta, but conservative values still hold. Granted, few areas of the country are dull, but the corn belt, the rust belt, and the midatlantic region aren’t in the same class as, say, the Cascades, or Cape Cod, or Boulder Vale.
