The infallible Washington Times reports that up for sale is one of the most famous scenes of infantilism in the 20th century, "Woodstock." Actually, what is on the block is the late Max Yasgur's New York farm, 38 acres of which were used for the 1969 Woodstock music festival that hagiographers for the "1960s Generation" have ever since boomed as a pivotal event in American history. Such rock singers as Jimi Hendrix and Richie Havens got together before a stupefied crowd of some 500,000 eternal children to sing of peace, and freedom, and mind-numbing substances, even the most feeble of which have now been shown to be extremely deleterious to intellect and spirit. Better it would be to inhale Marlboros than to fool with the proscribed substances that eventually killed or demented many of the singers and attendees in that famous field.
As for "peace and freedom," wars have continued and the specific war that the troubadours of Woodstock had in mind ended only when our Democratic-controlled Congress broke an American pledge to send support to embattled South Vietnamese forces. The North Vietnamese communists beat them. .... Drunk and disorderly rockers never pacified any region I know of, and many have lived irritable and belligerent lives, leaving children and other loved ones in a hell of a mess. ........... As I have been noting of late, the aging 1960s generation -- divided as it has always been by its left-wing and right-wing -- is now facing its political swan song. The Republicans and the Democrats will probably nominate members of this generation to battle in 2008 one more time. Now the face-off is on again, probably with Hillary opposing Rudy.

Um, five percent less of the vote in Florida swings that state to Hillary. The same is true in states like Iowa, Colorado and Missouri.
And, there isn't any evidence that RINO Rudy can win one blue state.
I’ll vote for whoever is running against Hillary, guaranteed.
There is no lesser of evils there. This may be the first Presidntial Election I do not vote in since 1980.
I’m not a Rudy hater. In fact for a time I supported him. If he ran against Hillary I honestly believe he would likely win...
HOWEVER, the man is simply too far to the left, and has too much baggage, to pick up the nomination.
You must choose between Left and Lefter.
I’m not pro-Rudy, but I am anti the Witch.
You surrender to liberals when you put a RINO in office. There is nothing worse than when a conservative supports a liberal Republican that works with Democrats to enact a liberal agenda.
And, just think of the damage a liberal Republican will do in realigning Congress. The party in the White House almost always loses seats. With a social liberal like Giuliani in the White House, conservative, blue-dog Democrats will easily be able to retake dozens of seats in the South.
AMEN TO THAT! I, too, will do everything in my power to assure the Republican party is not taken over by RINO/liberal Republicans. I would rather endure four years of Hillary and work to nominate a conservative candidate in 2012.
I hope you're right.
I don't think you are.
Look at the top 10 states by population:
Who will do better than Rudy for the GOP nomination in PA, NY, CA, NJ, MI, IL and FL?
He might even win a majority of delegates in OH. GA and TX will be extremely difficult.
Thompson is the only man who might beat him. If he does it will be by an extremely narrow margin.
Is he a foot dragger on everything? People are already dropping OUT of the race (Tommy Thompson) and Fred isn't even in it yet.
“You surrender to liberals when you put a RINO in office. There is nothing worse than when a conservative supports a liberal Republican...”
Not true! RINOS do act like conservative Republicans sometimes. Libs never do! I’ll take my chances with an R but never a D. Look where pressure got us on the amnesty deal.
Those who sit out the election concede the next four years. I don’t consider myself a quitter and will hold Rudy’s feet, or whomever the Republicans elect, to the fire.
But, they act like liberals more often. When they do, there is no stopping a liberal agenda pushed through by a Republican with the help of Democrats.
The amnesty bill was only halted because so many Democrats opposed the legislation, BTW.
“I will vote for the Republican nominee. I will not stay home nor write in a name.
I will never, ever surrender to the democrats!!”
Amen and Amen!!!
Who said that? I'm saying even Reagan was the lesser of two evils.
Do you honestly think that *hillary* has a better chace in TX than Rudy? Or Obama?! C’mon.
Only in Bob Tyrell and Rupert Murdoch’s wet dreams.
I will never, ever surrender to the democrats!!
Turning the general election into a second Democrat primary isn't a winning strategy... I'll vote for Bullwinkle instead...
“Right now. Rudy will not be the GOP nominee. You can bank on it.”
I really don’t see how Rudy is going to be nominated either. The only reason could be is because the conservative vote is split between several candidates. The only reason Rudy is doing good is because he is the only one like himself. Personally, I think it would be tragic if he made the nomination. I mean, come on, we are in a fight against Hildabeast, it’s going to be a let down to set a man with a troubled personal life and failed marriages against her. It will take all the fun out of it, I want to see a good fight between two opposites, it will be no fun watching a fight between the lesser of two evils.
“Rudy haters”?
The man is pro-abortion, has cheated on his wives (note, I said wives) and refuses to say publically that he believes in God, and you think the issue is people who are Rudy HATERS? That’s just too simplistic and it misses the whole point. The bottom line, I want to see a real fight between two opposites, not a fight between the lesser of two evils.
If Giuliani is the nominee, the Democrats will sweep, and the GOP will be out of power for a generation or more.
