President Bush and Vice President Cheney met this morning with economic advisors at the Treasury Department in Washington. The president delivered a statement afterwards, taking time to remember the trapped miners in Utah.
"This morning I spoke with Governor Huntsman of Utah. He gave me an update on the efforts to rescue the trapped miners. I told him our nation's thoughts and prayers are with the miners and their families, and that the federal government will help in any way we can.” (Transcript)
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice met with Chile's Foreign Relations Minister Alejandro Foxley Rioseco today at the State Department.
And Secretary of Defense Robert Gates met with Japanese Defense Minister Yuriko Koike at the Pentagon.
Also, it was announced today that French President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife will meet with President and Mrs. Bush this Saturday at the family home in Kennebunkport, Maine. This will be Sarkozy’s first visit to the United States as president. (Transcript)

3rd - OMG, Disneyland was an ordeal yesterday. I took my guest and her gdaughter and my 2 ggirls to Disneyland. Friend is from Kansas. Friend was SHOCKED AT THE diversity there. I myself, being FROM here was not shocked at that per se, but a little astonished at the number of women I saw with the Muslim headscarves.
So, I’m wondering, are there THAT many convertees? Or have we begun allowing more into the country, or WHAT?
Of course it’s been ages since I’ve been to Disneyland.
It’s a petri dish of culture.
