SC: Two Muslims apprehended with bombs and bomb-making materials, FBI says no known link to terror

Goose Creek - Two men are being held in the Berkeley County Detention Center after police find explosive making devices in their car. The quantity of explosive making materials in that vehicle is unclear. The FBI (website) reports that there is no known link to terrorism. The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office believes that among materials in the car's trunk were a bomb and bomb making materials that include chemicals, fuses, and igniters.

The men 21-year-old Yousef Megahed and 24-year-old Ahmed Mohamed were pulled over Saturday evening during a routine traffic stop near Myers Road and Highway 176. Few details about the suspects are known at this time. They are believed to be students at a Florida college. They are of Middle Eastern descent and are not US citizens. Neither man has been charged, but charges are expected Monday. A press conference will be held in Berkeley County on Monday morning. Possession of unlawful explosives is among the potential charges. Officials are not at this time releasing any additional information. The Berkeley County Sheriff's office may confirm what exactly was found in that trunk during Monday's press conference.

Enough jokes. This is serious. We are targeted by people who wake up each day and their first thought is how they better kill Christians and Jews. They are here by the millions, because our elected incompetents deliberately chose to let them in. The elected incompetents lie to us all the time about terrorists in the USA.
I have absolutely no reason to believe that they are capable of protecting us. Or that they even want to protect us.

Of course they do. It’s not out there for reasons we’re not privy too. Think about it...could it be because of a much larger terrorist plot? If they allow a different approach like ‘this was a terrorist plot’...everyone could go underground.

“Of course, don’t get me started on USF and ties to terrorism.”

I understand and agree with you. As you probably know, we’re still waiting for Al Arian to be deported.

I have neither the time nor patience, nor the luxury of allowning my family or freedom to be put in an ounce of harm’s way to take the time to differentiate between bad muslims (those who DO NOT FOLLOW THE koran), and GOOD MUSLIMS (the one’s who are following the unholy book that tells them to dispatch of the infidels)...

Today's Charleston paper says the CAIR hack who is now flacking for these two guys claims the explosives were merely fireworks "left over from the 4th of July..."

Ahmed Bedier, executive director of the Tampa chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a civil rights organization for Muslims, said the men arrested are Youseff Megahed, 21, and Ahmed Mohamed, 24 - two University of South Florida students.

Family members told Bedier they think the materials were leftover fireworks Megahed kept in his trunk since July 4.

“Both of them are really naïve kids,” Bedier said.

Isn't it lovely that these nice young fellas, non-US citizens, are so patriotic, they celebrate the 4th!

This has become SOP for the FBI and Homeland security.
What I think it means is “no ties to Al-Queda or any other recognized terrorist group”. ( although they seem awful quick on the trigger). I don’t think they consider “free lance” or “lone wolf” operators as “Terrorists”. They just qualify as run of the mill criminals.

Perhaps some judge will levy a $1,000 fine for fireworks out of season.

Whatever happened to the news conference on this that was supposed to occur at 11:30 a.m.? I would have thought this would be carried on FOX, CNN, etc.

“Both of them are really naïve kids,” Bedier said.

You know, as I recall, some of the 9-11 hijackers could also have been categorized as "naive", since they did not know the full scope of what was to happen. "Naive" does NOT mean, "not dangerous."

"... no known links to terrorism..."

The FBI may not know of links to terrorist groups but here's a bulletin for PC-propagandists in the FBI or on FR - that they must have missed over the last 15 years:

"Middle Eastern descent" + "explosive making devices" + American soil
= LINK TO TERRORISM (Even if not "terrorist groups")
Kinda like
       "fox" + "hen-house" =

("Dummies?" Here's another bulletin: Resorting to dumb-ass insults is not the sign of an Einstein. )

Is it possible that the FBI had these two under surveillance for a while and local police were tipped off to pull them over for a “routine traffic stop”?

Of course. It's the logical explanation and speaks of sound operational judgment. No need to burn an informant or jeopardize ongoing operations. Evidently these guys were uncomfortably close to using or handing off their devices. Otherwise, why not just keep surveilling?

Honestly folks. The FBI and all other Muslim loving government agents and agencies need to lie to us about possible terrorist activity. Why you ask? Because they know that a Muslim’s life won’t be worth spit if American’s start to fight back.

This just KILLS me. Everyone gets it when the pedophile shows up during the “stings” NBC has been running with that police task force carrying alcohol and condoms, and lubricant, etc. etc. but still denies he had any plans for having sex!!

But when the Muslims are carrying bomb making materials, it’s just college prankster stuff.

I’m going to scream now....

There doesn’t appear to be any way to double-check exactly what statement was on the FBI website, because this story is nowhere to be found.

Very strange.

Maybe I’m just not typing in the correct search terms.

Obviously, this must be a project for Bomb Studies class if it’s not terrorism.

That’s the FBI’s standard position — way, way way before any investigation, they tell the press, “there are no ties to terrorism.”

When there are, it comes out a year or two later.

That is why the terrorist websites and forums must be shut down.
