Mitt is going nowhere. All anyone knows about him is that he’s a Mormon, and it’s all anyone talks about. No one knows or cares about his issues, other than his flip-flopping; all he ever gets ANY attention for is his being a Mormon.

Although I’ve never heard even a snippet of Mickelson’s show before today, I bet Mickelson holding forth on something he knows nothing about happens on a not infrequent basis.

You're ignorant. Jan Mickelson is the top conservative radio host in Iowa for a very good reason. He's knowledgable, brilliant and principled.

Barnett and Hewitt are nothing more than squishy Romney hacks.

I’ll trust Jan Mickelson, thanks.

This would be news; but he has taken the gloves off about a couple hundred times.

(I also thought Mickelson’s comments on politics, namely that the President should overrule the Supreme Court when in the President’s opinion the Court oversteps its bounds, were a tad on the screwy side as well.)

Jan Mickelson, (with the help of the late Cleon Skousen) nailed Romney to the wall.

I’m not exactly what you would call a staunch Romney supporter — quite the opposite, in fact — but I must say, I’m impressed. I’m also somewhat astonished that people would stick up for the host despite his blatant and unabashed dishonesty.

A tad screwy?

Is Mitt sincere? Yes

The biggest complaint about Mitt Romney is that he is a flip flopper. The fear is that you can’t take his words at face value. He might advance other words and actions when it suits him. Is he sincere? Is he steadfast?

These attacks on Mitt have an obvious opportunistic quality. They gang up and repeat, and repeat, and repeat. There is the constant nipping at his heels. They are mostly sound-bite arguments. The attacks that I've examined have not held up. They are beginning to seem mean-spirited.

Still the questions remain: Who is the real Mitt Romney? Is there a there there? It is ironic that the sins of the Democrats - Kerry, Clinton, and others - are visited on a Republican - Romney. I think Romney is sincere and steadfast. He is the real deal. Yes, it’s wise to question, but it’s not worldly or smart to be a perpetual cynic.

I listened to the entire video. Mitt did very, very well in pointing out that he is not running to be America’s religious leader but to be America’s President.

The best part was when he asked Jan: “My church teaches against the use of alcohol; so as President, do you want me to ban the right for all Americans to choose whether or not to drink alcohol?” And then he said: “My faith is for ME, not for me to force it on all Americans.”

GREAT JOB MITT.

Dean Barnett was Mitt's driver in 1994 when he was the Republican nominee for Senator against Ted Kennedy, and has attested on Hugh Hewitt's show that Romney was personally VERY conservative.

Additionally, Romney has held leadership positions in his church. Were his political views impermissible, he would have been excommunicated. Furthermore, while in that leadership permission, he counseled women against abortion.

I have been away from FreeRepublic for a while. I last posted back in the Clinton years, during the Whitewater, Paula, Monica, Perjury scandals. Now that I have returned I am shocked at what is being posted here.

This use to be a place where conservatives and Republicans could criticize the liberals and Democrats and celebrate our own. When did FreeRepublic became a place for conservatives to eat our own. Its shameful some of the things people are saying about Gov. Romney. How are we going to beat Hillary if our candidate is so beaten up in the process by our own team. Wake up!

Romney was undeniably impressive. He knows how to stand firm and defend his position. I would love for him to win the nomination and do to Hillary what he did to Jan. Come on everyone, wouldn’t you just love to see that?

GO MITT GO!!!

Mitt Romney is going to have to “take his gloves off” again after Fred Thompson and/or Newt Gingrich officially enter the ‘08 Presidential race and start attacking Mitt and all of the other GOP Presidential candidates on a variety of issues! I also wouldn’t be surprised if any of the second tier GOP Presidential candidates seriously try to get some political traction going their way by also attacking both Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani on a variety of issues starting with this Sunday’s debate.

Jan Mickelson: “I want a President who will tell the Supreme Court...to take a flying leap and meet me in the back and we’ll settle this like men.” What a jerk.

I am so proud of Mitt and have said all along that LDS would not imposed their believe on others but a true LDS would practiced their faith according the 11the Article of Faith

11 We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

VIDEO GO MITT GO BLESS YOU!:)

I think Jan Mickelson came off as a deciever becaue he knew the what he did was not Kosher, and Mitt Mitt came through like a shining star!

Hezbollah thinks Mitt was awesome too. Frankly, for FReepers to continue supporting Mitt Romney after he praised a terrorist organization as a “role model for the USA” indicates to me that there are other loyalties in play (as opposed to mere like/dislike of a candidate and his policies).

Jan Mickelson was the one being deceptive because he knew the what he did was not Kosher, he should apologize to Mitt, and Mitt came through a forthright gentleman!
