Yesterday, Mitt Romney went into Iowa radio host Jan Mickelsons studio for a conversation about politics. At least it should have been about politics. Instead, Mickelson decided he wanted to grill Romney on the Mormon church and Mormon theology. (I also thought Mickelsons comments on politics, namely that the President should overrule the Supreme Court when in the Presidents opinion the Court oversteps its bounds, were a tad on the screwy side as well.)
Mickelsons station, WHO, had a video recorder on the governor that was recording his off-air comments, something that Romney was unaware of. On the air, Mickelson stated that according to Mormon theology, Romney should have been excommunicated from the Mormon Church because he was once pro-choice. Off the air, Romney tried to gently tell Mickelson that he didnt know what he was talking about. Although Ive never heard even a snippet of Mickelsons show before today, I bet Mickelson holding forth on something he knows nothing about happens on a not infrequent basis. The off air exchange (that once again Romney didnt know was being taped) was at times heated. WHO today posted the footage on its website.

“Liberals despise him because they rightly suspect he will not implement their family-destructive social liberal agenda.”
This statement is amazing! Romney has been the biggest supporter of liberals and their pet causes like banning “assault weapons,” promoting homosexual “rights,” public-funded abortions, and...the list is quite long. Remember his quote about being a “greater champion of gay rights as compared to Teddy Kennedy”?
That Feingold handwritting is scary!
It makes no difference at all to anyone of any maturity or mental integrity. We have a few twisted sickies here who feel the need to work out their personal problems by attacking Romney's faith, just like their buddies who attack the Catholic Church. When you want to hate someone, any excuse will do.
What is it with you Romney haters and hyperbole? Are you capable of reasonable discussion?
“...ask yourself if you would turn down the services of a Mormon paramedic, cop, or refuse to be defended by Mormon soldiers and marines.”
I couldn’t agree with you more. This isn’t an election for “Theologian in Chief.”
It’s baffling (and stupid) to me how many Christians would vote for other nonbelievers but never for a Mormon.
Slick Willard’s religion is not the problem.
His flip-floping on many issues is a problem.

It seems that you don’t know what the word “hyperbole” means OR you are not a careful reader/writer. I don’t debate such people - it’s a waste of time.
It seems you don’t know what the words “flip flopping” and “honesty” mean [especially when your candidate has lots of one (flip flops) and none of the other (honesty)]. If you admire somebody with such qualities (as you seem to), I have no desire to continue debate either.
Wow, what an revealing statement. Does this indicate that Mitt will be going to Salt Lake about his decisions as POTUS? Sure looks that way to me.
Well they told me in Salt Lake City I could take this position"
Nice try, but no ceegar. Mitt’s conservative presidential platform is well in line with the LDS church. I don’t think he’ll have to ask them if he can politically espouse posotions they already agree with. And EV doesn’t believe the woman in that article. Your side can’t have it BOTH ways, FRiend.
What I also noticed is, you can’t admit when you’ve been proven to be undeniably and blatantly wrong. That tendency only make you look EVER SO FOOLISH! : )
WHAT? You're the one who posted this gem: "Well they told me in Salt Lake City I could take this position, and in fact I probably had to in order to win in a liberal state like Massachusetts."
I don't want the POTUS asking ANY religious group for permission to do ANYTHING! Do YOU? SHEESH!
Check out my posts. So am I.
1857, September 11. Odd coincidence huh?
That was because Mitt was taking a political moral position that disagreed with the LDS position. His presidential platform is morally in line with his church. There would be no need to consult them.

I think it's more likely he's just playing to his asinine audience.
You’re beginning to write like restornu.
“All anyone knows about him is that hes a Mormon,”
Wrong.
I know that Mitt has expressed admiration for Hezbollah’s ways of finding supporters. He thinks we could learn from them!
