No, Im not kidding. Heres a paraphrase of what he said:
...the only reason Bush is talking about fatalities is because he didnt give MN enough money to maintain the bridge.
Right, Ed. Because its the President, and not Congress, who appropriates highway funds for roads and bridges.
Whats more, have we really departed so far from our federalist roots that were now blaming the President of the United States for not properly maintaining a bridge in Minneapolis (if that is indeed why the bridge went down)? What about local city officials? County road inspectors? State highway department people? The governor?
But hey, I guess this is what you get from a paid mouthpiece for the Democrat party.
Of course, Schultz isnt the only liberal driven to stupidity by the bridge collapse in Minnesota. Others are saying that the bridge collapsed because, get this, we arent paying enough in taxes. Again, Im not sure why the bridge in Minnesota collapsed (hasnt anyone been inspecting it?), but if more funding was needed to maintain it Congress could have cut back on the number of million dollar bus stops and bridges to nowhere theyve been building with our highway money.
The late Paul Wellstone deserves more blame than President Bush.
I was told never attempt to analyze insanity.
The bridge collapsed in the middle of maintenance. The money must have come from somewhere.
while the libs spend billions a year to get 3 kids to stop smoking
They raid the funds each year, delay needed highway projects and complain that we need to put toll booths out on I-95 to raise highway funds.
And the majority of the voters believe them every election cycle.
Hey Ed! How’s the dog?
PING!
Ed Schultz... America’s dolt.
They were blaming the Feds for Katrina hours after it happened.
Uh, until last month, when did Dubya ever veto a spending bill of any sort?
My father and a few of my friends got into the “Dubya cut FEMA funding and that’s why NOLA was a mess” mantra. When pressed, they all claimed that Dubya veto’d the funding before Katrina.
I challenged them on that point, and in spite of numerous quotes saying that Dubya hadn’t vetoed any bill since he was POTUS, they still maintained their stance.
Sadly, the first casualty of activism is truth...
#8 I wasn’t taking your name in vain! PROMISE!
:-)
I am shocked that Ed Shultz beat him to the punch.
I’m afraid that I’m not familiar with ol’ Ed. No loss, apparently.
Sadly the feds did little to deflect the blame where it belonged at the state level and bush kept taking responsibility that fueled the attacks.
Laura Ingraham invited people to call in with (sarcastic) reasons to blame Bush about the bridge collapse on her show today and “the Jews were warned not to use the bridge that morning” made me laugh.
Have they not considered the possibility that someone just broke something while working on it?..........Hells Bells! Sooner or later they’ll be blaming Bush for all the chewing gum on the sidewalks! Don’t they know how really stupid they sound? The street light is burned out! It must be Bush’s fault! The paper is late! It must be Bush’s fault! I’ve got hemorrhoids, it must be Bush’s fault.....Who in HELL are they gonna blame when Jan 21, 2009 gets here?....
Who in blazes is Ed Schultz? He sounds like a real tool.
