Oh, no! I hate to hear that Coach Walsh has died. He provided a lot of good, enjoyable, and exciting football viewing memories for us. We loved him at our house.
God bless and comfort his wife and their family.

A great coach and a true innovator. As a 49er fan, he brought me a lot of happiness and joy.

That man gave me and all 49ers fans so much joy and happiness on so many fall weekends and his legacy extended far beyond the 49ers, to so many other teams in the NFL coached by his assistants. Condolences to his family and friends - I’m truly sad about this.

The West Coast offense should be named the Walsh offense. He always seemed to be one step ahead of his opponent. Everybody remembers “The Catch”, but what was equally impressive was “The Drive”. Who would have thought that he would send a broken down tailback like old Rat Daddy Elliott on a couple of end arounds? It showed the weakness of the flex defense. He was a genius.

I consider it an honor that my New York Giants were the one team the 49ers seemed to have trouble with regularly in the post-season during that era.
Walsh was one of the defining figures of the NFL during the 1980s, and he'll be missed by all who knew him.

I am probably the biggest Cowboys fan and 49’ers hater there is, but I have always thought Coach Walsh was a genius and a class act. He is one of the all time greatest coaches in my eyes. His offensive philosophy has had a huge impact on the NFL and College Football.

I am quite saddened by the passing of Bill Walsh.
Being a BIG 49ers fan during the 1980's and 1990's, I will never forget Walsh's innovative coaching and turning the 49ers into truly one of the GREAT all-time teams. From "The Catch" that won the 49ers' first NFC Championship to the drive that won the 49ers' third Super Bowl, Walsh put together a great collection of players that few other coaches matched.
Walsh in the same pantheon of all-time great coaches such as George Halas, Paul Brown, Vince Lombardi, and Chuck Noll. As such, Bill Walsh will be sorely missed.

RIP Coach Walsh
As a NY Giant fan during the 80's I had nothing but admiration for the 49ers teams of the Walsh era. Walsh's offense was always seemed to be two steps ahead of the opposition.
