I’m blaming CNN in this case, if they didn’t check the candidate’s availability in advance. However, in general I prefer them to be in the show. Yes, I’m aware that electing a new president is a serious stuff. However, in this country any citizen age 18 and above is allowed to vote, and they do watch YouTube more than our generations. Yes, they will ask strange questions. And yes, there’s a good chance CNN will allow silly questions. Still, if we don’t take the opportunity to take the message out, even when it’s risky, I think we’re missing out important segment of voters. Who knows, in a close election, perhaps their votes count.

Well the Democrats won’t debate on FOX so why should Republicans go on liberal networks?

It will be chocked full of anti Bush, anti WOT gun control and pro gay marriage questions.

Want to talk about an ambush...thats what it will be.

Newsweek interview with (cartoonist) Berkeley Breathed:

Q. Speaking of Iowa natives, are Bill the Cat’s political aspirations behind him, or will he be a late-entry candidate in the 2008 presidential race?

A. Rudy (Giuliani) is running: a man with a closet full of wives, frequently dresses as a woman and sports adult children who refuse to talk to him. Bill's redundant.

Fred? FRED??? FRED!!!!!

I dont’ blame them, just a cheap dog and pony show. I wouldn’t stoop so low as to participate in such a charade.

“I’m sure one question for Mitt would be,”boxers or briefs?”.”

Answer: Vestments. AKA ‘funny underwear’

“It adds to Romney’s and Rudy’s credibility to skip such a phoney baloney pile of poop.”

I agree. The last “Youtube” CNN debate was made up of about 40 liberal questions and 5 conservative questions, with many of them being down right stupid! Only CNN could have a debate like that!

to the contrary. all of the questions in the youtube debate will be liberal red meat. If they are both liberals they would have done a great job at that debate.

"It was pathetic when the Dems ran screaming from the Fox debate, and it would be equally pathetic for our candidates to drop out of the CNN debate b/c they are scared"

No, at least Fox has some journalistic credentials even if liberals "don't like" it. This is the equivalent of debating the guy on the corner raving about the CIA stealing his thoughts.

And that is a very good point. The You Tube questions are picked by liberals not the cute snowman, Folks.

Just as bad as the Dems running from Fox News. Pathetic cowardice.

Nah, they just want a serious debate, not a showcase for a bunch of morons who are doing nothing more than shouting "look at me, me, me!"

What about Hunter and Huckabee? Will they be there?

I understand people's reasons, I guess, for not wanting to be on the forum. But, there will be some people who will not appreciate those who "duck out" on this.

As far as Romney feeling that the Presidency deserves more than getting a question from a snowman; that's an elitist, snobbish attitude if I ever heard one. I rather get a question from a snowman than Wolf Blitzer or Anderson Cooper.

But, when you're as charismatic and rich as Mitt, I can understand not wanting to "mix" with the common people. (Gag me with "The Book of Mormon".)

John Kennedy and Richard Nixon broke new ground with the first televised Presidential Debate in 1960.

Today, we’re breaking new ground with YouTube and the Internet. It would serve the old farts well to get into the 21st Century.

No the CNN debates are just ambushes.

The first YouTube “debates” had no less than three questions which were from ringers or were set ups complicit with CNN.

The so called debates are not highly viewed. Only we hard core broken glass voters pay attention.

For myself I have not wasted my time with ANY of these early debates. NOTHING has happened and NOTHING has been shifted. If something relavant happens I can see it on c-span.org.

Guiliani and Romney are very smart to skip this BS fest.

You tube questions are a gimick and irrelevant.

They are rigged or fakes at best.

Youtube is NOT a tool for debates in this fashion.
