Romney's welcomed answering regular people's questions all day long on the campaign trail for a long time now on his "Ask Mitt Anything" tour. He hasn't run from mingling with the "common folk" at all. No other candidate has exposed himself to as many questions from regular folks in recent history as Mitt has in his campaign through Iowa and New Hampshire.
Also, he's extremely fast on his feet, so I am sure he can handle even the most liberally-slanted snowman question just fine.
Taking questions from people and taking questions from snowmen and hand-puppets are two different things though.
Does the Presidency have to be dragged down to the same circus mentality as the reality TV crazies, Paris Hilton mania and the American Idolization of America? Hey, I enjoy a little bit of that stuff myself, but is there any good reason to drag the potential leader of the free world down to that level too?
I am sure that if CNN can assure Mitt, Rudy and the others that the dignity and decorum of the Office can be maintained, then perhaps they will reconsider.
As far I heard, Mitt hasn't officially declined yet. If he can work out his schedule and establish some ground rules with CNN so that it won't be any more ridiculous than it has to be then maybe he will attend. Otherwise, it's just a little bit too cute and fun by half.
So are the people who use them to say "Me, me, me, pay attention to me!" If the questions were presented in a respectful, dignified format, that would be a different thing. But no one has indicated that only questions recorded in such a fashion will be used. In fact, we know from the Dem debate what a silly spectacle it turned out to be.
BTW, MEGoody, wasn't that the people that Jesus mixed with?
I don't recall Jesus mixing with those who dressed up as snowmen and acted silly just to get their '15 minutes of fame.'
(And he didn't call them morons.)
True. He called the self-involved ones vipers, white-washed sepulchurs and children of satan.
When you get this stupid debate format, you get nothing but “pony-tailed guys” like the one during the 1992 debates, who asked what the government was going to do for “all of us children.”
LOL!!! Lighten up, brother.
If by 'lighten up' you mean accept people acting like idiots just to get their '15 minutes' of fame, thus destroying what should be a serious debate, no thanks.
Does it really matter at all, except to kids in the dorm?
kids in the dorm who vote.........
