UC Berkeley scientists, digging deep into a remote New Mexico hillside, have discovered a trove of fossil bones that they say is evidence that dinosaurs and their early relatives lived side by side for tens of millions of years before the relatives slowly died off and left the dinosaurs to dominate the ancient world.
Until now many scientists had thought that dinosaur "precursors" -- perhaps their ancestors -- disappeared suddenly long before the dinosaurs themselves rose to prominence, but the bones dug up by Berkeley paleontologists show evidence of a different story.
The discovery of a wide variety of creatures all mingled together in layer upon layer of rocks dating from Earth's late Triassic period between 235 million and 200 million years ago, they say, shows that the strange relatives of the dinosaurs remained on the scene while the dinosaurs evolved into truly dominant creatures during the Jurassic period, between 120 million and 200 million years ago.

(This is the reason creationism, ID and the rest are religious beliefs, not science; once you start positing creation you have no rational or scientific means to discern among the various versions of creation. Scientifically, the Flying Spaghetti Monster becomes as likely as any other creator.)

LOL, I don't dare ask the creator for evidence in things I don't understand to begin with (no human mind can grasp forever anyway, we are not equiped to understand except but what we can digest).
If you want to believe that a big hunk of rock of various elements came from nowhere and exploded that is ok with me, it is your soul. Perhaps your big Spaghetti Monster created it from nothing for you.
I believe in God forever way beyond the making of time (beyond yours and my grasp of reality) and He gave us what we needed to know. I know God placed "stumbling blocks" for those like you, and for a reason the path is narrow the way I go and wide the way you go.
Now you are not the first to ask man about light and stars.. God put Job in his place once (Job 38)...

I would say its a big reason that I no longer consider myself a devout Christian. I can say for certain now, that if I ever regain my religious roots, I will never worship the God described in Job.

I know you don’t believe, and I can understand that sometimes, given some peoples views. But there are a lot of us who know God did not want us to wait for answers, but to come find him and his works. Otherwise what’s the point of all the beauty outside of the naked eyes reach.

The book of Job makes me hope that if God exists, he ignores me. Lest he feel the need to use me to win a bet with Satan.
Heinlein wrote a book he titled, JOB: A Comedy of Justice. Here's a memorable quote:

Indeed, he did “get it.” Sagan was a brilliant man. He also was a well-known, ardent agnostic. He did not believe there was a “God” and made that very clear on several occasions.
Please do not blaspheme the Flying Spaghetti Monster by putting it in the same category as “any other creator.” All other Gods are pretenders. The FSM is the Light, and only true Pastafarians will see heaven.
If you honestly believe that the Earth is only 9000 years old, you are seriously deluded.
