With that approach, what evidence makes you think it was 6000 years ago rather than last Thursday?

LOL, I don't dare ask the creator for evidence in things I don't understand to begin with (no human mind can grasp forever anyway, we are not equiped to understand except but what we can digest).

If you want to believe that a big hunk of rock of various elements came from nowhere and exploded that is ok with me, it is your soul. Perhaps your big Spaghetti Monster created it from nothing for you.

I believe in God forever way beyond the making of time (beyond yours and my grasp of reality) and He gave us what we needed to know. I know God placed "stumbling blocks" for those like you, and for a reason the path is narrow the way I go and wide the way you go.

Now you are not the first to ask man about light and stars.. God put Job in his place once (Job 38)...

Job 38:19Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof..

Job loved the Lord.. but you don't question some things now do ya.

Job38:24 By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the east wind upon the earth?

Job38:6Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;
Job38:7When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

These things we will know when God wants us to know.. That is all I need to know.. and a fool can waste time on it if he so deems.

Fine with me. You stick to religion, I'll stick to science.

I think the book of Job is one of the most god awful things ever put on paper.

I would say its a big reason that I no longer consider myself a devout Christian. I can say for certain now, that if I ever regain my religious roots, I will never worship the God described in Job.

______________

God placed more than one “stumbling block” for us. One is called “logic” and another is called “reason.” God defies us to believe in him, by giving us knowledge of how the real world contradicts the bible, and awareness of the many contradictions within the bible. As you say, God does not want us to think too hard about these things, but rather leaves open a very “narrow gate” for those few who can set aside their reason and common sense. We must be vigilant to suppress any thoughts of how illogical it is to believe in God. That’s how best to worship. Just stop thinking.

God did not place stumbling blocks in creaion. He said that the heavens declare his glory. The heavens declare that the universe began some 12 to 15 billion years ago. The heavens do not declare lies but rather declare reality.

I feel bad for saying this because I know that you mean well, but your theology is as bad as your science.
