Now I don't support Paul's presidential run (But I do support his candidacy itself, there's a difference) and I agree that he's unlikely to get the nomination. But these Libertarians, independents, and folks who don't normally participate in politics? They're the folks who decide elections, effing GOP idiots. How about ending the drug war and staying out of Mideast politics after the job is done in Iraq, & the GOP would be in power.
Ooops! I think you mistakenly posted this on Freerepublic instead of moveon.org where it belongs.
RP is like most rock stars...insane.
BARF!!!!
"Can you hear me now?"
- Ronnie Paul, Rock Star
LOL! Please stop. You're killing me.
Which is your favorite illegal drug?
Well, which of the two are they "ignoring"? After all, Libertarians are, well, libertarian, while Reagan Democrats generally tend to be socially conservative and supportive of traditional moral values. These two groups are definitely NOT contiguous.
But these Libertarians, independents, and folks who don't normally participate in politics? They're the folks who decide elections, effing GOP idiots.
Actually, they're not. There is a huge urban legend in American politics that there is just this massive, untapped group of independents and moderates out there - the so-called "middle of the bell curve" - who determine national elections. Like most urban legends, it's not actually true. Most independents and moderates tend to maintain a voting trend with a particular party, even if they don't register as a member of said party, and may not be as idological as core party members. This only fails to hold true in the big realigning elections, such as we saw in 1980 and 1994.
This post has to have the dumbest headline ever posted on FREE REPUBLIC...
In order for one to be a “Rock Star” you must be able to demonstrate that with numbers. There’s not even 50% of America who’ve ever HEARD of Paul, much less would ever consider voting for him.
To think otherwise is LAUGHABLE!!!!!!!!!!
I always liked Ron Paul on domestic issues, unfortunately he and I disagree on the biggest issue of the day and that is also the only issue where he is getting any press.
It’s kind of a shame that instead of advancing liberty and limited government effectively he becomes more of a tool of the moonbat left. Probably not by his own design, but oh well.

Bump for historical marker post August 11..
Ron Paul? Isn’t he the soon-to-be ex-Representative from TX-14?
One possible scenario is that Dr. Paul stays in the race for many months and will be to Thompson, perhaps, a thorn in the side, the way Keyes was to GWB in 2000. Paul will show how “establishment” Thompson really is and discourage conservatives who think they want Thompson all the more. Or Paul may show how bizarre he has come in this latest political cycle.
2% support is a “Rock Star”?
More a libmedia-driven fantasy...
He’s anti-war, which makes him a god with the Hate-Bush crowd. And I think we ALL know where his recent “Surge” in donations is coming from, don’t we?
If everyone in America valued the Constitution and its limits on federal government as much as Ron Paul, this country would be a much better place.
Seemed a wacko to me who might be a prime example of someone who needs to be managed with medications.
Being it seems Libertarians LIKE medications, Ron Paul seems made for his rants.
Crazy stuff, he’s an embarrassment to conservatives, but he does make good theater for a short time.
