Severed heads beat report cards to the truth (Hurry -- time is running out to lose in Iraq!)

Nailing down a clear picture of the war in Iraq is a work in progress in Washington, D.C. Making it harder is the national media, which is misrepresenting what is happening at boot level, softening the face of the enemy. If the public cannot get a true view of the brutality and horror the enemy is capable of, then how can it be expected to reasonably assess our involvement? Continues...

===============================================================

Hurry -- time is running out to lose in Iraq!

It seems the only thing liberals love more than car bombs in Baghdad is . . . hmmm, there's nothing they love more, come to think of it (although flop-a-thon Live Earth concerts and sniffing Michael Moore's soiled knickers are close behind). Every morning libbies rush to the New York Times to get their car bomb fix of the day.

Liberals love the Iraq issue so much, they want to carve Iraq into thirds -- let's have three Iraqs instead of just one! But with the troop surge in place even liberals are suddenly losing hope in al-Qaeda in Iraq -- so much so that they want to surrender now, rather than wait until September 15, which was their original game plan when they didn't think the surge would work because military expert Arianna Huffington told them so. They even want to surrender before Friday, when the first report is due. Every sane person knows that if we leave Iraq, they'll follow us here. Yet, libbies just want to quit, pick up their mullahs and bring them home in the middle of a war. America will be so much safer.

The surge has barely kicked in and already liberals are citing 'worrisome' trends -- such as that it's working. This is not to say there isn't any 'good news' out of Iraq for liberals -- there's that wonderful Glasgow Jeep car bomb doctor from Iraq (the downside for liberals being that the mission failed, but it's the thought that counts). And, of course, liberals had another grim milestone to celebrate -- 3,600 U.S. deaths in Iraq. (They're pulling for 4,000 by mid-September -- they love the troops.)

But phase one of the "failed" surge is barely in place and already the signals that it's working include:

-- The New York Times calling on Bush to withdraw immediately. The editors on Sunday wrote an editorial calling the Iraq war a "lost cause" but it turned out they were looking at the paper's balance sheet.

-- Fiery, 'all-powerful', all-Madhi Shi'ite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr fled back to Iran after realizing the Democrats don't have the votes to force Bush to lose the war. (At the time of this writing, it wasn't clear if the Mookster plans to seek Nancy Pelosi's seat.)

-- The number of Iraqi civilian and military deaths has dropped by more than half since February. Before the surge (when liberals started saying the surge was failing), military planners said the surge would have to work its way through all its phases for violence to drop this dramatically -- though hand-to-hand violence still rages hideously inside Katie Couric's office.

-- Military geniuses like Harry Reid said the Sunnis would never join the Great Satan to fight al-Qaeda. Sunnis in Diyala, Babil and Salah-ad-Din provinces as well as the Sunnis of Anbar province have joined the Great Satan to fight al-Qaeda.

-- Attacks on our troops in Anbar province are down dramatically, while attacks are up only in areas the enemy still controls -- several Baghdad neighborhoods and over 50% of the U.S. Congress.

(Attacks by al-Qaeda on civilians inside the U.S. strangely remain at zero ever since we invaded Afghanistan and Iraq. I'm sure there's no connection.)

-- U.S. troops who've fought in Iraq are re-enlisting in "higher numbers than throughout the military" in general, and over "140,000 soldiers have enlisted or re-enlisted in the Army. All three components are above the retention goals as of the end of March; overall retention mission is 37,578," (White House briefing, 7/3).

-- Tips on al-Qaeda from the locals are rolling in more than ever; "insurgents" are stacking up at the morgue; car bomb factories are being raided and shut down; more Baghdad bidnesses are opening; people are pouring back into the capital due to the failed surge in the capital, etc.

But none of this is enough to satisfy liberal ninnies and treasoncrats like Nancy Pelosi because their plan to establish order and stability in Iraq is to go to Syria clad in a Burka and to keep saying the word 'redeploy'. Redeploy troops out of Iraq and Iraq will be peaceful again. You see this all the time -- crime-infested gangland urban areas turn into crime-free neighborhoods just as soon as the cops pull out!

But with evidence the surge is working, I notice libbies are turning to their retread excuse. They're upset that not enough progress has been made in Iraq on the political front ("reconciliation"). Liberals are astonished, stunned and dismayed that the surge has been in place for three weeks and Iraq is not Iowa yet. It took America years to get its act together -- why is Iraq taking years to get its act together? Sixty-two years after WWII, American troops are still in Germany because Germany still can't defend itself from the fierce threat of Warsaw Pact forces that don't exist anymore. We need a pull out plan from that quagmire.

Another favorite complaint is that Iraqis haven’t passed an oil law. Yes, Jihadis strap on suicide belts because Iraq lacks an oil law.

The whole point of the surge is -- security first, then we'll discuss amnesty and political reconciliation. But nothing changes facts on the ground like changing facts on the ground. The media, the Democrats and the RINOs are fixated on "benchmarks" in Baghdad and whether or not this or that piece of paper or bill in parliament gets passed -- liberals hoping nothing gets passed in order to declare the surge a failure, force the U.S. to bail, enjoy the genocide aftermath; RINOs hoping something gets passed to get the parties to cut a deal with the Sunnis, get the Sunnis to quit the "insurgency" and get the 'reconciliation' going. But the Sunnis already cut a deal with the Great Satan, rolling up al-Qaeda alongside the pros because of the surge that the geniuses in Congress, believing their own press releases, think is failing. Bush figured it's hard to get people pumped about 'reconciliation' if they're getting slaughtered and, anyway, the chaps doing the heavy lifting on the battlefield matter more than the chaps in parliament if changing facts on the ground is what you want.

But if you're Congress, the illusion is that all it takes is a bill here or amendment there, problem fixed. Get the Iraqi parliament to pass an oil law and al-Qaeda will lay down its arms! You'll see! Sen. Carl Levin on Tuesday proposed to "end the war" by the scheduled date of April 30, 2008. Lovely. Make sure to pass it along to al-Qaeda and good luck with that.

You can schedule dates to "end the war" all you want but the basic fallacy in that plan is that the enemy could have a say on when the fighting stops. But I'm sure Levin's measure will get al-Qaeda to fold its tent! Just you see!

Anyway, that's...
My Two Cents...

"But if you're Congress, the illusion is that all it takes is a bill here or amendment there, problem fixed."

Congress is lame. Liberals complain about the Presidents approval rating when congress rating is even lower. If we lose this war in Iraq, it will be at the hands of our enemies closest allies, the liberal left wing of our own democratic party.

And to add insult to injury, they want to silence conservative talk media thru the "fairness doctrine". What about free speech? The problem is the democrats do not have anyone sharp enough to debate the likes of Rush Limbaugh or Shawn Hannity or carry their own radio show so they cry foul.

God bless our troops and God bless America.

Godd one JH2.

I was talking to a patient outside Wlater Reed Army Medical Center last night. He had called his congressman that day furious at the talk about pulling out. He requested that congress hold hearings at Walter Reed and ask the wounded patients if they think we should pull out now. He wanted to know why those serving and the wounded didn’t get a vote on pulling out. I thought that was OUTSTANDINGS and thanked him for watching his brothers’ backs.

following your conversation, we could call the congressmen who are acting like kids in the back seat of the car whining “are we there yet?” to ask their staff

a) when was the last time Rep. or Senator soandso visited Walter Reed or Bethesda?
and
b) did he ask the troops he met for their opinion on “redeployment?”
and
c) if he didn’t ask, why not?

It doesn't really matter how sharp you are in a debate if there aren't any facts that support your side of the argument! They may as well be debating that the sun doesn't rise and set every day, for the amount of real evidence they have on their side.

Hello John!

I alwasy look forward to all your interesting threads!

I still have to stop from time to time from THINKING about the Politics of it though-my blood pressure hasn't been too good recently!..But

AMERICA has "WON" so much Already- I wonder when it comes time to give CREDIT for all THAT when looking back-will the Dems STILL say " It's All BUSH'S WAR!!"??

Saddam-GONE!

His SONS! ( Just as bad!)-GONE!

The ability ofr Saddam to start up his Nuclear/Chemical/Biological Projects & programs!-GONE!

the Currupt 40 BILLION DOLLARS Oil for Food UN program EXPOSED!

Saddam's American Dollar Conterfieting operations-GONE!

Iraqi's Drug Production serious Cut and working on it being almost all GONE!

The Threat that Saddam would WAGE ANOTHER WAR with his neighbors-GONE!

IF the Libbies-REID, PELOSI-MUTHA are so CONCERNED about " Needless Deaths "-why aren't they still doign back flips over the MILLIONS who Died in Saddam's jails, Prisons!? which are GONE!! No Liberal Leadership has thought , from that body that High Jacked The Democrat Party , or has given ;

ANY ALTERNATIVE “ PLAN “ from ; Kennedy, Mutha, Pelosi, REID, the ENTIRE party from Congress to ANY Dem Senator!

And NOW it’s “ Bush’s War”- while they only CARE about “Power”- and NEVER about “ Troop Deaths” or any other Patriotic sounding principles.

SO-The “War”; America’s Involvement in Iraq- has gone on for 4-5 years and PLUS possibly what 3-4 More years?

HOW MANY YEARS more would the FIGHTING, DYING, Bloodshed CONTINUE in Iraq with the : ---Internal Religious Fighting? ---The Family-Fued Fightings? ---The Sudden, Massive Influx Back of the “Bad” elements; criminals, radicals who had been driven AWAY from Iraq by our & Iraqs’ forces! ---And ALL the Recruits just Waiting on the borders of Iraq to come in UN-Checked or Un-Challenged! ---Don’t forget all the Ex-Iraqi Politicians that lead all the former graft & corruption in the old Gov’t, just WAITING to come back and settle old scores!

What about the BLOOD SHED Then!!??

What will REID & the Dems want THEN?? For ALL IRAQIS to “ Leave” their OWN Nation? And go where?

“WE” already know the argument of: What the Consequences would be after we would “ LEAVE”. WITHOUT a Real, Secure , FREE IRAQI GOV’T in Place that would be Capable of Defending itself-running it’s own internal Gov’t agencies, and making Contracts & treaties with Other Nations!

But NO-Where has the Dem-backed MEDIA asked ANY Dems just WHAT ARE THEIR PLANS! They Go on EMOTION instead of Logical, step by step examinations of the repercussions concerning THAT side of the ocean: What will happen to the IRAQIS??- This consideration is thrown away while the Dems state that THEY are solely basing their Withdrawal Efforts on “ Saving AMERICAN Lives”-What about ALL the far reaching Deaths NOT ONLY In Iraq-but ALL Nations being blackmailed/harassed-lead into the dark ages-in OTHER Muslim Countries?

What about the DEATHS and Assignations and Take Over of OTHER democratic/Free Nations/Small Towns & cities in ASIA!, and all OTHER Muslim Lands! “Go ahead and Start Taking OVER my fellow Terrorists! Allah is GREAT! And the AMERICANS will only Run away!”

And ALL for the AMBITIONS of a Few Dem Leaders.(Who were ALL Originally FOR the War & Plan! Along with the Voting American Majority that KNEW where we would be leading to!

It has been said many times- and should always stay at the forefront of any discussion with other Americans – That This “WAR”; this Specific Aspect of it being the Our Troops & The Coalition’s Battle with Extremists Islamic radicals in IRAQ!- Had from Planning from years before- Including the Actual Taking of Bagdad—Through ALL THE SUCCESSES of that war (Saddam Gone-His SONS Gone- The ability to start up their Nuclear & Chemical Projects whenever they wanted- and a safe haven FOR terrorists-to give whatever weapons they had to others-the saving of the Oil Fields for the Future of the Iraqis intheir own freely run gov’t. - )

WE ALL KNOW!-Up to NOW this war has all been “ POLITICALLY USED “!! By the Democrat party leaders.

The terms applied have been , “ Used like a Political Football “ or “ Political-ized”. But WHATEVER the term- the MAIN PROOF! & POINT that the Liberal Leadership of todays’ Democrat party Couldn’t care LESS about “The War“ Is their:

TOTAL LACK of any talk on “Winning the War”!-as with REID’s “WE LOST THE WAR” speech!

So besides their surrender already- basically their Leadership’s TOTAL LACK of THEIR “Alternative Plans”-Nor ANY MENTION of “WINNING”-Or ENDING UP (After Withdrawel BEFORE all total aspects of this engagement can be put on more stable footing) with ANY “Senario”, JUST HOW DOES LEAVING “HELP” America? How does retreating: 1) Better SECURE any United States Interests-HERE or in the Middle-east; 2) Better Secure OUR Interests in: Economically, Security, Colaition/world relationship wise, 3) HOW does that help OUR “IMAGE” as a Leading Nation; Strong-resolve,-in regards to any (guaranteed!) FUTURE 4) Better Secure ANY Positive Outcome for a Florishing, budding NEW Democratic Run Nation such as IRAQ, 5) As there are NO “Winning Scenarios” as to just WHAT WE would benefit in the Other Struggles to erratic the SERIOUS Threats from Iran, PLO, Hamas and all OTHER Terrorist organizations in that region! There has Not been ONE OPTION-PLAN-or smallest THOUGHT To WHAT THE DEMS WOULD DO “After” their planned, “ Cut n Run “ –Surrendering On our & the coalition’s part! No PRESS RELEASES-No disclosure of “the Future” by Reid, Pelosi, any of them! GEE! Just how much FUTURE Assistance would WE ever hope to get from any other Coalition Gov’t in Future Operations against ( Well Anticipated Future Terrorist attacks/engagements) When it becomes PROVEN THAT AMERICA can NOT be trusted to see any engagement through to the end! With POSITIVE Conclusions to US!

Hey KENNEDY!? Is “ SAVING AMERICAN LIVES “ the ONLY “Reward” You think America would get out of abandoning Iraq and the Iraqi People & the Beginning, Young Nation !?

Start “at home” then Kennedy: and stay away from Driving or being behind the wheel of a car! Especially with any new female interns!

Hey REID!? Is “Saving American Lives” the ONLY “Reward” you can think of for Retreating, losing any Faith other nations have in us to have RESOLVE in aiding them in the future?

How about seizing all the AUTOs and TRUCKS in YOUR STATE and on their highways! THAT would save 5,760 Auto Related DEATHS on YOUR State ROADS! Since your tenure(AAA State By State Death Stats- http://www.driveandstayalive.com/info%20section/statistics/stats-usa_indiv-states_per-capita_2003.htm)

AMERICA’S future Security and Plans for how we should handle ourselves Militarily should NOT rest with a party whose Soles Agenda for Wanting such a disastrous course is based on the POLITICAL AMBITIONS Of a Few.

If they all want to “Give Up “ on something- they (especially CONGRESS) might as well get use to the idea that THEY have “Given Up “ any Hopes at being Re-Elected next election cycle!

LOL! Did you invent a new word, or have a fingers-take-charge moment? Either way, your word is very accurate in describing what is going on with our “lawmakers” who would be CinC’s.

PS: PLease pass on my observation to your friends and acquaintances who are feeling “Iraq fatigue”.
