Fred Thompson is going to present a problem for a mainstream media that is used to reporting on political candidates who enjoy the affections of younger women just as long as their wives don't find out.
The media isn't quite sure how to handle a man who has a comprehensive past with the ladies, is probably running for office and yet isn't busy herding more illicit humps into his closet than an Abu Dhabi camel smuggler with the cops banging on the front door.
Back in his single days, Thompson date

The only Presidential wife I've had a quarrel with is Hillary. Between youth and evil, I'll pick youth.

I know that eventually there is going to be some criticism lobbed towards Fred Thompson for having a wife 25 years his junior.
In my book, however, it doesn't matter. They're happy and they're faithful to each other and seem to be happy. As far as the age difference, all that's worth in my book is a big 'way to go Fred'.

it's been decades since we've had a presidential candidate from a southern state whose way of asking a woman out on a date wasn't to just drop his pants and say "How 'bout a smooch for lil' Bubba?"

This article is disgusting, and it’s from a supposedly sympathetic source. The woman is hardly a bimbo — she is a lawyer and was a Republican operative before marrying Fred.

The age of his wife does not bother me so much but the idea that his mother-in-law is 4 years younger than him is a little creepy.

In truth, I don’t think it’s the age difference that will bother people so much as the fact that she’s been photographed so much with her ta-tas hanging out to a degree that is unprecedented for first ladies. We just aren’t used to knowing that much about a first lady’s ta-tas.

What did I miss? I didn’t notice that the article suggested Mrs. T was a bimbo .
Bill Clinton, in particular, got sliced and diced without his name even being mentioned.

It would be a big issue for me if they were both much younger. Past a certain age it just ceases to be an issue. They are mature adults, married and faithful.

Well, at least we’re talking about a spouse of the opposite sex. Among the Dems, it appears that one of the candidates is married to a member of the opposite sex merely in order to keep up appearances.

I don't know if that's really true. I can't see Algore as having enough wit or personality to even drop a line like that.

They seem to have a great relationship. A trophy wife means your wife is more decorative than meaningful.

We just arent used to knowing that much about a first ladys ta-tas. Dittos to this. Of course, the Thompsons were at Hollywood affairs, and standards of dress are quite different there. But still, an unusual situation, ta-ta wise....

I don’t think the media was too concerned about a trophy husband running for president in 2004.

Laura Bush was branded a lowly librarian too. I feel sorry for the spouses/family of a politician.

I’m not a Romney fan. I actually like Thompson. But you can’t refute my point. Even my daughter, who is in a different generation entirely, mentioned it, unbidden by me.
