I have no issue with Fred’s choice of mates, she is quite attractive. I just can’t see being with someone who is no older than my children (but that is my own issue). People that much younger than me seem like they are from another planet.

It’s insulting to call her a “trophy wife”. And what does age difference have to do with anything? If he had an adulterous relationship with her while married then that would be a serious character flaw to look into, but for the press to grab onto a minor age difference (she isn’t 25 for goodness sakes) is just petty.

my husband is a year and a half older than i am, i can’t see being with anyone that much older/younger myself, but i am not going to judge a man’s candidacy based on his choice of mate. now rudy’s choice of a mate offends me, bc he did his choosing/sampling while still married to someone else and he did it more than once. that goes beyond choice of a mate to inherent character flaw, IMO.

I understood the meaning of “trophy wife” to be a very much younger second wife who marries a rich man after he has dumped his first wife for her. If this is the correct definition then Mrs. Thompson does not meet it.
