Court of Appeals takes up Corrie lawsuit

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit will hear arguments Monday whether there is merit to a lawsuit by the family of Rachel Corrie, the 23-year-old activist from Olympia killed by a bulldozer in the Gaza Strip in 2003.

The defendant in the case is Caterpillar, which made the D9 bulldozer involved in her death.

The case, Corrie et al. v. Caterpillar, was filed in Seattle in 2005, but a district court dismissed it. After this hearing, the appeals court will rule whether the suit should be dismissed or sent back to the lower court.

Cindy and Craig Corrie, the woman's parents, allege Caterpillar violated human rights and committed war crimes by knowingly selling its equipment to the Israeli army, which used the bulldozers to raze Palestinian homes and endanger people. Rachel Corrie was run over by a bulldozer driven by an Israeli soldier as she tried to block a home from demolition.

G-d forgive me, but every time I read a article about the late Ms. Corrie, I get a mental image of you trundling about on a D-9 hollering, "Next!"

If this case goes to trial and comes out in Corrie's favor ... the precedent set would open up a Pandora's box of litigation to every whack job that stubs a toe saving trees, or whales, or black rights, or illegal 'rights', or ... well ... you get the picture.

Hell, at my age .. I might even stand in front of an on-coming class 5 hurricane .. like Moses .. trying to save the Gulf.

My kids and grandkids could use the money.

The Corries seek monetary damages in the civil suit, and they want to stop Caterpillar from selling its products to groups they say violate human rights.

Typical of the loony left...further their agenda via the court system.

Four Palestinian families whose homes were bulldozed are also plaintiffs.

I recall seeing the video and she was run over. The front end(scoop, shovel,etc) seemed to be almost ground level and it scraped over her head. Then I belive the driver backed up and hit her again.
She was surely at fault as anyone knows that playing chicken with industrial machinery is a no-no in every culture.
She was aiding and abetting terrorists and should be remembered as someone implicit in killing innocent people.

the point i was making was that the 9th circus sides with the perverion of law and against common sense. sadly i think that 9th circus will side with pancake girl's family in this case.
