Now that seems to me to be more than a bit of a stretch.

Unless Romney (1) knows what's on the cable channels in the hotel rooms in the first place; and (2) is on the board of directors with sufficient clout to make a change, in the second place; I don't see how he is personally responsible for every marketing choice made by Marriott.

Besides, with what passes for network TV these days, if the TVs carry the major networks and MTV somebody could accuse it of being pornography. It's certainly trash.

Wow. Talk about a slanted sentence.

I'm no Mitt fan. I won't vote for him under any circumstances because I think he's a flip-flopper with no core principles who's willing to say anything he thinks you want to hear to get elected, but this attack is way out of line.

Unless he personally instituted the PPV project, defended it, or attacked other hotel chains for XXX pay-per-view, there's no hypocrisy here. Any more than as a Mormon he's a hypocrite for serving on the board of a hotel chain that stocks minibars.

Honestly, is pornography even a campaign issue? Is this the best one can come up with against Gov. Romney? I don't know who I'm supporting, we don't even know for sure who is running (especially by the time the primaries come to Kentucky in May, the field will have been thinned, but it sort of irks me that this is an actual issue.

Very few motel/hotel chains do not offer the pay per view service. It's not as though Gov. Romney was partaking of the service himself, but whatever. It's a stretch, in my opinion, to say he is hypocritical, if he doesn't approve of porn, and he serves on a BoD that offers the pay per view service.

I, myself, do not "approve' or support or whatever the term would be pornography, however, I will be the first to say I will stay in a nice hotel (and have stayed in nice hotels) that offer the service. Am I, therefore a hypocrite? I subscribe to HBO, and other premium channels, for the sports entertainment and the occasional movie...am I therefore a hypocrite?

I think it was Ralph Waldo Emerson who said, "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds" and this stretching to find hypocrisy proves that statement.

I expect the dems to have a slime machine, but I’m surprised that a Christian organization has one too, although it’s not as finely tuned as the dems’.

The far right kooks are turning out to be a major embarrasment for the Republican with their increasingly ridoculous demands.

What do they want next? That Romney put a camera in every room to make sure nothing x rated goes on and also check whether the couples who check in the marriot rooms are not having sex if they are not married? One wonder whether these fringe groups are planted by the Dems to make the Republicans look like nutcases in the society.
