The London bomb plot allegedly planned by a cell of doctors failed early last Friday morning because a medical syringe used as part of the firing mechanism caused a malfunction, ABC News has learned.
According to nonclassified documents reviewed by ABC News, and confirmed by multiple sources, both mobile telephones initiated firing mechanisms rigged inside a Mercedes E 300 parked several yards from the front door of Tiger Tiger nightclub failed despite multiple calls to the cell phones designed to remotely trigger the devices.

They failed because the makers were doctors, some of the least mechanically apt people I’ve ever met.........
Why didn’t they detonate the cars on-site? Where they afraid of all those virgins chasing after them forever?

The reason is they spend all their early years becoming doctors, and there is little time left for other pursuits. Inside their profession they are really educated and outside of that world they are lost...............
In general you are correct. I won’t say I’m an exception but I can do most minor home repairs, including electrical work. I installed 4 new light fixtures and three new Roman shades yesterday. I know several physicians that are expert small engine repairmen.
They had an appointment in Samarra -- in Glasgow.

I can’t speak for the others, but my father couldn’t hammer a nail without hitting his thumb. In their defense, my parents forced me to take 2 years of shop class in Junior High. The rest is self taught.
