China nightclub blast kills 5, injures 32: report (Reuters)

BEIJING (Reuters) - An explosion in a nightclub in northeast China killed 5 people, injured 32 and others were still missing, state media reported on Thursday as investigators sought to pin down the cause.

The China News Service reported the blast hit a club in Benxi county, Liaoning province, at about 9 p.m. (1300 GMT) on Wednesday. Four of the injured were badly hurt and rescuers were searching for another dozen or so people.

A county official at the scene told Reuters that investigators were trying to work out whether the blast was accidental or deliberate.

First thing I said to my wife was “I’ll bet it was Northern China”. She asked why, and I told her “because I’ll bet it was a Muslim.” Most of the disturbances of this nature in China I’ve noted are in Northern China.

At this point we don’t know if my guess is correct. May eat crow yet. Nothing I’ve read so far definitively I.D.’s the perp(s) as Muslim.

Thanks for posting this. I had heard that they too had several incidents related to terrorism. I have also heard that their techniques for dealing with such are "decisive". I'd sure like to learn about what they are doing and if successful, how we could apply such techniques.

And if it involves lining them up and shooting them, as long as we are talking about terrorists and the communities that harbor them, I'm all for it.

Oh...Duh...LOL...Gotcha. She wasn’t so much “surprised” as she is quite aware due her diligence and interest in World affairs, after all she is a Freeper. Amused is an inappropriate term to use do the tragedy, but the predictability of such happening in NorthEastern China didn’t surprise her.
