TOLEDO -- A golf outing for politicians left some embarrassed after they found out strippers were handing out drinks at the event.
Days after the annual event, members of the Lucas County Democratic Party are calling for John Irish to resign and to clear the party's name.
One participant said he saw a woman flash a group of golfers. Others at the fundraiser for the Democratic fundraiser said they didn't see any inappropriate acts.
"When the word got out that these girls are strippers, it gave the party a black eye," said Clerk of Courts Bernie Quilter.
"Every elected official out there was embarrassed," Quilter adds. "I didn't see anything inappropriate, but the label strippers gives us a black eye. It's what makes an impact I don't want to be associated with."
It's not clear who hired the strippers. "The Democratic Party belittled itself to a frat party or a bachelor party," says Ellen Grachek, Toledo City Councilwoman. "That's not the message as a Democrat in Lucas County wants the Democratic Party to be sending. We should be embracing women."

An interesting excerpt from the linked article:
"The Democratic Party belittled itself to a frat party or a bachelor party," says Ellen Grachek, Toledo City Councilwoman. "That's not the message as a Democrat in Lucas County wants the Democratic Party to be sending. We should be embracing women."
LOL. Ellen, when you've dug yourself a hole, quit digging.

It was the strippers who should have been embarrassed to be around the human smegma; politicians.

Toledo Democrats are running away from strippers, but in 2000 Loretta Sanchez stood by her decision to hold a Democrat fundraiser at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles.
I guess the difference now is that the Democrats are trying to woo "Values Voters" with new faith-based language, and for some reason, "strippers" just doesn't fit into that nomenclature.

It would also take a lot more than one resignation.
